Ragnarok was good, but I need to see the end of Endgame to judge if I want to see Thor 4.

I did enjoy the new direction Thor: Ragnarok took. If it results in a fourth film, that's great.
What Thor: Ragnarok really got me enthused about though, was that Marvel Studios fully embraced the notion of doing something completely different with a character, and allowing the director to do their own thing. The rehiring of James Gunn as director of GotG III gives me hope as well. What I really want to come out of all of this is for Edgar Wright to be brought on to direct Ant-Man III. Much like Thor, Ant-Man performed okay, but was generally underwhelming. While Edgar Wright's exit from Ant-Man was different from that of James Gunn, the return of Gunn does indicate that Disney is willing to walk back their less than well thought out decisions of the past. Like Thor: The Dark World, Ant-Man and the Wasp performed better than the original, but clearly needed to bring a radical departure to any new installment in order to be truly successful.
Give us an Edgar Wright Ant-Man, and allow him to do whatever crazy nonsense he wants, Marvel! I mean, come on. It's Ant-Man. Nobody really cares about him, anyway.

There was a period in the last few years where Marvel replaced all of their legacy characters with younger, woker versions of them. In some cases they killed off the originals.
Predictably, they butchered it in many cases and came under heavy criticism from their readers.
One of the few cases where the newer characters was widely well received (if not entirely at first) was this one from Jason Aaron. It's a damn good run, and one of the best things Marvel produced in the past 10 years or so. Highly recommend.

It would certainly be a different direction for a Marvel flick.

Makes sense. The only reason Jaimie Alexander stopped being in the films is that she was busy with her own TV series, which ended this year.

I always felt in my gut that if she were in Ragnarok, Hogan would have died in the same scene as Volstagg and Fandral, and she would have been in the scene where Hogan leads an army against Hela and she would have died there. I've always been thankful she wasn't in Ragnarok because of how fucking wasteful that movie was.

While I approve of the notion of shaking things up in the Thor films, as they were certainly the weakest of the series up until that point, things went a bit too far. Hopefully, Love and Thunder will fix some of it.

Idris Elba is the curious part of that group. Matt Damon was confirmed to return. Although considering Multiverse of Madness isn't coming out until after Love and Thunder and No Way Home coming out right before that, we could be deep thick in the middle of stories where literally any character can possibly show up.
Or, you know, it'll be flashbacks.
