I haven't seen Into The Spiderverse, but I'm surprised it didn't make it into the top 10. That seemed to be the most positive word of mouth I'd gotten from any film last year.

In one swoop my bad taste has single handedly punted The Favourite out of the top ten and Ready Player One into the top five. My work here is done. If I couldn't have First Man in the top ten, then nobody else gets The Favourite!

Some stats:
This is the first time a Marvel movie has made it to number one. Before this the only comic book movies to hit the top spot were The Dark Knight and Sin City.
Before that the closest an MCU movie got to the top spot was The Avengers, which made it to number three.
To date there have only been two years where the eventual Oscar Best Picture winner has not been present on out list (The Kings Speech and Spotlight), so Roma, ASIB, Blackkklansman, or Black Panther will need to win today to keep that statistic going. If Green Book wins it will probably be the first winner to not receive a single vote.
This is only the second time (after The Dark Knight) where our number one film was the worldwide number one box office earner.
There are seven different movies that could have gotten on the list from a single ballot.

I peered into the vastness and saw nothing. Felt nothing.

I'm surprised Ready Player One is so high up, but I suppose I liked it well enough when I first saw it. For some reason it has really started to wear me down, though, getting worse with each viewing. I guess it could be seen as a positive note that I actually went out of my way to see it two more times since I first saw it in the theater, but each time I've seen it, it has started to annoy me more and more. It's a decent line up otherwise. Infinity War was my favorite of the year.

I'm surprised Ready Player One is so high up, Neverending and #1godzilafan each had it listed at #1.

DraculaMy favorite part about these lists is how you put quotations from the CS members. I'm not sure if you scour through different review threads the day before or if you save some choice quips as you see them throughout the year but they make this list that much more enjoyable. As always, great job!

Oh, I frantically scroll through the review threads at the last minute, would be a lot easier if more of you wrote reviews or at least participated in these discussions through the year. I was really scratching the bottom of the barrel to find some of these.

I always try to add something substantial for movies I think will end up on my list.
