Apartment houses can be soooooo much like friggin high school sometimes - petty bickering, cliques, some earth ending trauma, and lots of gossip every day. I'm Switzerland  Neighbors are strange creatures, so diverse. I don't mind, even enjoy, being acquainted, but I stay out of the drama. Same goes for the work environment, which can be the same. |

Realizing I've put on some weight recently and want to start getting active again. I know from prior experience diet alone won't be enough.
So step 1: I bought the nicotine patch today and am starting quitting today. I know I might slip up some, but I'm committed to making myself healthier and it starts here.

It seems as though Adam Sandler has squandered what little good will he had left with the general public after his latest movie. The thing about Sandler is that all of his movies over the past decade have been awful on average yet he still keeps churning them out. Yeah he has his own production company but every year he keeps making movies that are worse than his previous ones. About 15 years ago another SNL alum was at the top of his game; Mike Myers. He was huge with Shrek and Austin Powers. Then he makes The Love Guru which was a huge bomb and seemingly ended his career in Hollywood. He hasn't headlined a live-action film since. Is it possible we can switch them out for a while? Myers is infinitely more talented than Sandler and so long as his product is a step above his Goldmember and Love Guru schtick I think he could give us something at least somewhat entertaining. I don't know why I'm typing this, I guess I'm just wondering outside of Supermensch what the hell Mike Myers has been doing.

After Wayne's World 2 underperformed at the box office, he disappeared for like 3 years and only made Austin Powers because his wife pressured him. The same seems to be true about The Love Guru except he divorced the wife who pushed him to make Austin Powers. That's probably why his hiatus has been so much longer now. Also, he never really made that many movies. Aside from his three franchises: Wayne's World, Austin Powers and Shrek, he has only made a handful of movies. Adam Sandler, by contrast, seems like a workaholic. That's probably why he makes so much shit. He doesn't care about the money or "the art". He just likes working. |

I swear to god it's physically impossible for my SO to touch anything without making a giant mess. Then being completely blind to the mess he's just made. I'm also pretty sure that it's common knowledge that you can't even look at an english muffin without cornmeal exploding all over the place. Yet everyday, I have to clean up a pile of crumbs and cornmeal.

It's not bad. I never did 8.1, just came up from 7, but my wife has 8.1 on her PC and I never touch it. I'm assuming it takes the best of 7 and 8.1 and tosses the crap out. Best part about it, I can stream my Xbox from the living room when she takes over the TV to my PC in the room, and it runs great. Plus, everything else runs smoothly and install was a snap. Not a bad launch for a free OS from Microsoft.

My idiot brother forced us all to upgrade our work computers before windows had a chance to actually make things work. I have to work from my laptop for a while because I can't open the excel sheet that the checkbook is on. I don't like being encouraged to link all my stuff together because I enjoy having work and private life separated. I also had to uninstall a bunch of bullshit like candy crush and other games. I miss having windows that worked as a work computer.

Keep with it. You'll be happy that you can smell and taste things again. I was a social smoker for about 10 years, so quitting was easy for me. Even I was surprised how much my senses came back despite not being a heavy smoker.
