Our local police chief passed away this evening in a motorcycle accident. An oncoming car came into his lane and he had to swerve and he died from his injuries. He was truly one of the good guys. All this mainly bad news about police around the country, and he was a role model for everyone here. I met him and talked to him a few times and he was truly personable, truly genuine. Ill never understand why the good people get taken, while the monsters of the world are still alive and roam free.

Lol. Nothing is ever easy with a contractor. Ever. Prepare for delays, problems, and budgetary changes along the way! Didn't take you long to be proven right. I got a phone call yesterday regarding extra site costs. Apparently they encountered a bit of rock and had to dig deeper than originally planned. I'm waiting on invoices from the contractor before I agree to pay. Luckily the builder is willing to help absorb some of the costs. Maybe it just seems crazy expensive because I don't dig a lot of holes in the ground. I have it written into my contract that I can walk away if the site costs get to be too much, but I looked at what I could buy with the same amount of money and it's just not worth all the compromises I'd have to make settling for a resale. |

I try to have a lot of patience with roommates in rehab because I know some can't help it, but some are just hard to take. The guy next to me now has memory problems and is going through high blood sugar problems as well right now. High blood sugar makes you thirsty and he doesn't remember to push his call button when he wants something to drink - so he yells for water. Oh well, t least he doesn't do it late at night when it's dark - just at the crack of dawn when the light comes through the window. They wake me up to take a pill anyway, but I can't take naps in the day with him there |
