So I'm thinking maybe 2 lbs of Amish bacon is in order when I get home.

Compared to what I get at the grocery store...yes. Thicker cuts, lots more meat, lots more flavor. Same goes for the rest of the butchered meats.

Ahh. Yeah the selection of thick bacon in the store leaves a lot to be desired as far as quality, quantity and price go. I have found I like thin slices much better - I guess it depends upon how you cook it too, but crispy is my preference.
And yes, going to a smaller establishment like the Amish is usually better all around - good products and not mass produced
(We need a food thread by the way lol)

If you want nice crispy bacon. Put it in a cold oven then start the pre-heating to 450 degrees. Renders the fat, keeps it from shrinking and when it beeps that the preheating is done..you can give it a look to see how much longer. Alton Brown taught me that and I haven't looked back since.

I keep putting "out" in my browser URL and pressing enter, thinking it'll automatically take me to Outlook like my work-PC did.
It does not.
It takes me to a Google search for "out", the first result of which is Out magazine, the #1 gay and lesbian online hub.
I know this but keep doing it. I think I'm trying to tell myself something.

Maybe you should stop "putting out."

Damn - there's one nurse who comes over here and sucks the joy and happiness out of the room - I keep wishing she'd just shut the fuck up, do my bandages and get the hell out!

Speaking of bacon ... this is my favourite snack to make on occasion:
Stubb's BBQ sauce, brown sugar, cayenne pepper. Brown Sugar/BBQ sauce ratio should be enough to turn BBQ sauce into a thick paste. Add cayenne to flavour/desired level of spicy.
Purchase Applewood Thick Cut Bacon from HEB (or wherever you live, get the thickest stuff they sell).
Lather bacon in thick paste, enough to cover it, but not drowning in it.
Bake in oven per Seakazoo's instructions. Make sure bacon is cooked and a little crispy.
Eat.

I've spent a significant amount of time the past few days writing an outline for a fictional fourth Christopher Nolan Batman film.
What the hell is wrong with me?
