Watched Songbird. Holy shit. In what way? It’s a Michael Bay produced movie about the pandemic. Do you really need to ask?

Watched Songbird. Holy shit. In what way? Rented it from Redbox because that was the cheapest option.

Bit the ole bullet and adopted a dog last week. Slow going for the intro to the cats but they're just so scared. He's half shepherd half terrier-pittbull, and all handsome.
But now all we've been watching is dog whisperer. I'm currently listening to one of his audiobooks with multiple others requested for easter road trips.

Went into "Blow the Man Down" blind, 20 minutes in I'm realizing things look familiar.
This was filmed in the town/Island my former roommate has a family house in.
It's weird as hell seeing them dump a body on the ledge I once almost drunkenly toppled off of and died.

Or whorehouses run gangs of middle aged women?

Feeling burned out in the past 3 weeks. It sucks, I've become a human doing instead of a human being. Feeling like I have zero time for myself and if I did make time, well others would just not be ok with that or I would just have to make that time up somehow.
A lot is coming from work stress and if that balanced out more that would help a lot. My other social work friends and therapists all talk about how normal it is to burn out eventually. I always thought I could push through it or it wouldn't happen to me but now it's clearly knocking on the door.

Do yourself a favor, and start making time for quick errands if you're working at home long hours due to covid. Working hours creep is definitely a real thing, and if you're working long hours you should claim back some of that time. On the weekends when weather is getting better, I'm hoping the season change lifts you up. Personally, this winter has been particularly rough and I can't wait to get outside for a hike

One of the big downsides of working from home is there's no real 'clock out' time. My co-workers know I'm home and available, I know they're home and available and we're constantly messaging each other at 9 or 10pm for things that could easily wait a day. When your work and home lives blend together it makes it that much more difficult to unwind and check out. And you have kids, right? That certainly doesn't help (with all due respect to all our kids). And I don't care what your job is or how much you love it, there are definitely times where work feels like fucking work and getting chewed out for this or raked over the coals for that sucks no matter where you're working from.

Just remember, no matter how badly things go at work any given day... at least you didn't block the Suez Canal.

I only worked from home for 3 or 4 months, but it made me realize its not something I want to do. That separation between the two is important, and it felt like my home was being invaded.

Tell Steven Spielberg his fart clouds can wait till Monday. 'No no, the cloud needs to be thicker so it looks like it's obscuring the butt flame more. It needs to look like when a space shuttle takes off.' That's the kind of note that was given on that shot. For weeks.

I'm still working from home and its working well for me to the point where I will be very disappointed when I have to go back. I get to have the TV on in the background all day, I get way more sleep from not having to commute, I don't need to small talk with anyone, I don't need to cook my lunches in a microwave, I don't need to dress up, overtime is generally more tolerable because I'm not stuck in a separate location to do it... it's awesome.
