Wow, cant believe it took me so long but finally starting to watch The Godfather for the first time. James Caan/Robert Duvall in I and Keaton/Cazale in II are the MVP supporting bits in the franchise to me.

Do you guys think Forrest Gump killed anybody in Vietnam? Almost certainly, probably many. He was nothing if not diligent when given orders to do things like run or play ping pong and that almost certainly would have extended to killing "gooks" but the movie doesn't go there as it would complicate its general message that doing what you're told and going through life aimlessly are admirable traits.

I imagine Forest Gump in Vietnam is like Mr. Bean in a Wile E. Coyote cartoon.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is playing at a drive-in in Caldwell. I'm currently trying to talk myself out of driving an hour out of my way at 11 at night to go see it.

That is the thing about drive-ins. They sound fun, but by their nature they can't show movies until after nightfall and they generally have to be outside the city a bit, so if you want to go to one you're going to end up being out really late, which is not ideal for people like myself who are on a sleep schedule that forces you to get up pretty early for work. On top of that, you're watching a movie sans air conditioning and probably with questionable sound quality, and it just kind of seems like a hassle that outweighs the experience.

The thing is, I work at 4 AM most days, and wake up much earlier because it's a 45 minute drive to get to work as is. My brain right now is telling me "If I adjust my sleep schedule, I could probably just go to bed three hours early, wake up three hours early, be there for the showing, be out by 2 AM, and just head to work afterward."
Logic is telling me that would be a bitch and I'd be an idiot to do it, but my inner nerd is saying "Worth it."

Don't knock the drive-in. It's keeping the exhibition business alive right now. We have 5 drive-in's open right now. A 6th is on the way. Walmart (partnered with Tribeca) is doing drive-in's in August. And coming in September we got this bad boy: zip-tickets.com/organize/view/beyond-cinema-6273?eid=1547151That's right. Floating Cinema. Watch movies on a boat.

One thing they have in LA is the cemetery screening. Not sure if they do that where you guys are but they're extremely popular. The big ones are in the Hollywood Forever cemetery but they've branched out to other places. I've only been once, I watched The Birds while sitting on the grave of a dude who died in 1932. I dunno, there's something about it that's a little off to me but many people love it.

Just realized a kid I went to HS with is a somewhat famous comedian. Joe List.
I once spent tha aftermath if an indoor track meet doing burp-offs with him.
