Pro tip: While watching the weather forecast, if the weatherman says to "expect 6 to seven inches overnight," don't turn to your wife and say "and you should also expect 6 to seven inches overnight." It's not going to end the way you think.

TBS is randomly showing Family Matters. I watched the episode in which Carl is on a stakeout with a sexy woman and so his wife gets jealous and goes to confront the two of them. I forgot this show was kinda grown-up before it became the Steve Urkel show.

Also, Laura was a straight up hood rat. Definitely didn't fit the mold of a Chicago suburb resident. I can see why Steve was so infatuated. He got turned on by all that ghetto-ness.

I think it might be time for me find a new babysitter. The one I have now is really flaky. She lives right next door, so its convienent, but today is not the first time she's cancelled at the last minute. So now, I have to miss work.

Growing up as a late 80s/90s youngster there were 4 big sitcoms in my life; Saved By The Bell, Full House, Fresh Prince and Family Matters. Without a doubt Family Matters was the worst of the bunch quality-wise. Sure Full House and Saved By The Bell were cheesy beyond compare but Family Matters was an actively bad, nonsensical show. It started as a spin-off of Perfect Strangers about a Chicago cop and the hijinx his family got into. By the end Steve Urkel was 1) changing himself and several characters into Bruce Lee on multiple occasions, 2) time traveling, 3) teleporting to other countries, 4) reading minds, 5) cloning himself and 6) going into outer space in the final episode. It's so unbelievably stupid and how it goes completely off the rails as the show progressed is funny in and of itself, in fact it's the only funny thing about the show. Everything else is insultingly bad but growing up I couldn't look away. I'll take this time to raise my glass of water to the actor who played Lt. Murtaugh who passed away in 2016. God speed!

The thing about Family Matters is that it had no business becoming such a long lasting show. It was a super generic family sitcom in its initial conception and none of its main characters were memorable or funny. Had the Urkel side character not broken out and become a sensation it would have probably been cancelled swiftly. You can't entirely blame them for running with the one and only element of the show that really worked.

If it wasn't for the fact that she lived next door, I would've had no idea how to find a babysitter either. The wife and I have had to just kinda ask around and see if any of our family friends have kids that would want to babysit, or know someone who would. Its pretty nerve-wracking.

Babysitter? That’s what grandparents are for. We don't live near any family. We moved away from them years ago when we moved to Tulsa. Honestly other than the fact we have no support system, we like where we live, and we kinda like being away from family and any family drama bullshit. No on-call baby sitter in the form of relatives is really, one of the main downfalls.

I'm really glad "Parasite" won best picture.
But my question is wouldn't it have been better if "Parasite" not win Best International Film?
It would have been nice for them to consider one of the other nominations for that title.

It would have been nice for them to consider one of the other nominations for that title. If the Oscars were decided by people meeting in a room and hashing out who wins what, then yeah, there would have been logic to that. But when you're voting separately you have no way of knowing what's going to win Best Picture and it would have sucked hardcore if they had given International Film to something else and then 1917 pulled off the wins in BP and Best Director.

There's an app, or a website. I think it's Care.com. It's like the Yelp or Uber of childcare.

Should see it taper off as the weather gets better ala the flu. Would be cool to effectively wipe out this strain of virus tho.

On today's Family Matters
Eddie is hustled at the pool hall and Carl has to come to the rescue.
If you recall, there's an episode of Fresh Prince with the same exact plot. Remarkably, both episodes aired only 3 months apart. The Family Matters episode came first. Shame on you, Fresh Prince. Shame. Shame.
