That's actually pretty good casting. Doubt I'll watch the show much, though.

I've only seen her in John Wick 2, in which she had no dialogue. So I can't really judge this.

Shes Hot... But I can't stand any of the CW shows. So I won't be tuning in.
I'll stick Netflix Marvel shows though.

She was apparently criticized for "not being gay enough for the role" and has now quit twitter.

She was apparently criticized for "not being gay enough for the role" and has now quit twitter. There was a time where being gay was enough to get you blacklisted in Hollywood. Now people feel the need to bitch and moan about proving one's gayness to accept a role. Ruby Rose sleeps with women. She's gay. "Not being gay enough" is fucking absurd. Not that she really needed to be gay to play the role, though it lends credibility to it and she can add personal imput into the character. The LGBTQ community should be fucking thrilled by this.

Maybe they'll cast someone who can actually act this time.

Stephen Amell was great as Green Arrow, and both Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist are really good as Flash and Supergirl.
Batwoman is the first of these Arrowverse shows that I've outright disliked. And Ruby Rose's performance was a big reason why. Though the writing certainly didn't help, either.

What kind of lousy contract did CW have her sign? That's crazy.

Wyldstaar PhantomKnight Doomsday SnoBorderZeroSupposedly she left cause she had an on-set injury that required spinal cord surgery. So she’s like “fuck this shit” and dipped. She also didn’t like working 18-20 hours a day. Stephen Amell (Arrow) also complained about the shooting schedule and was thrilled the show ended.

I now remember hearing about her being injured, but I'd forgotten about it. If memory serves, there was a PA who was permanently paralyzed in a separate incident on the Batwoman set. If she had the option to get out of the contract, I can't say I blame her.

With the way Amell had a panic attack just talking about working on Arrow and now this, the production of these CW shows sounds absolute shithouse.
I hear Kevin Smith absolutely glow about working on these shows, but in one of his podcasts he's also admitted that the crew has told them that he's the only director that makes everyone happy, so who knows how miserable it is when he isn't there.

I suspect there's no shortage of TV directors who resent the fact that they aren't movie directors, and are only in that job because they can't get anything else. Kevin Smith directs these CW shows because it's something he genuinely enjoys doing. He loves the characters, and he's a very easy going person who wants to get along with everyone around him. I suspect this is a highly uncommon combination of traits for most of the directors who work the DC/CW shows.
