I was joking, Angelixx. Although, for the record, Tank Girl and Barb Wire were the first ones in the genre. For better or worse. No. Wait. It was Supergirl in 1984. Yeah, no worries it translated lol. I'm just so bitter at not having a Black Widow movie that I need to divulge my opinions somewhere. (god help Feige if we ever cross paths) Poor Helen Slater, everyone forgets Supergirl

For what it's worth, Bleeding Cool is claiming that the Wonder Woman solo film will be set during the 1920's. Seems a bit unlikely to me. LINK

www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=125096News broke late last month that Warner Bros. Pictures was looking for a female director to take on the Wonder Woman movie, and now we know who they were eyeing. According to Variety, Warner Bros. Pictures is in negotiations with Michelle MacLaren to direct the June 23, 2017 release, starring Gal Gadot. Charles Roven will produce. Gadot will first appear as Wonder Woman in director Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, hitting theaters on March 25, 2016. MacLaren was a director and producer of "Breaking Bad" and has directed episodes of "Games of Thrones" and "The Walking Dead" as well.

Here is the thing am not against DC movie plans or having women comic book movies being good cause the women need some good action films and comics is the logical vein. My concern is casting and I think DC messed up. I am not saying she has to be WWF Chyna sized but am saying this wonder women looks like Superman could blow her away with a sneeze.

It's good that WB was able to land a woman director. I'm not particularly familiar with her work, but after the Russo brothers came out of nowhere and knocked The Winter Soldier out of the park, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. I'm far more concerned about Gadot's performance. MacLaren is going to need a strong hand to get a decent performance out of Gal Gadot.

I'm more concerned that she is too thin and she would look laughable as a tough Amazon Princess.

I've gotten over the look, it's the acting and story that bother me. If either one of them are done poorly, I won't be sitting around through the whole movie to see if it gets better.

The story is the main reason I want a woman to direct Wonder Woman. I doubt we could possibly wind up with anything as blatantly sexist as Supergirl was, but most Hollywood writers are men. Guys routinely do things that are incredibly sexist without realizing it, and a female director will spot these problems in the script and have them corrected. The last thing we need is a Wonder Woman who plays with bunnies in a flowery meadow after flying past some ponies.

Thing is i dont get how directors who do music videos and tv shows get big budgeted movie offers. There is a big thing from a tv show episode to a large movie. I suppose a show like Game Of Thrones can seem like a movie. But still I believe its a throw of the dice when it comes to unknowns in movie directing. Yes some are lucky and it works fine but sometimes its a flop.

I suppose a show like Game Of Thrones can seem like a movie. But still I believe its a throw of the dice when it comes to unknowns in movie directing. Yes some are lucky and it works fine but sometimes its a flop. The world of Hollywood doesn't work like the real world. Just to make things even more complicated, the weird way things work varies from one production studio to the next. Sometimes folks on the outside can get a glimmer of reason out of it all. The Russo brothers for instance made a big impression when they directed the two parts of the epic paintball war on the TV series Community. The show got a big boost in the ratings thanks to the two-parter story, and they wound up directing The Winter Soldier as a result. The two-parter was full of intrigue, action, drama and comedy, all blended seamlessly- just like The Winter Soldier. Other times there is no logical reason why someone would be given a shot. Back in 2013 Warner Bros. announced that they had picked a director for their big budget, live-action adaptation of the epic sci-fi anime Robotech, Nic Mathieu. He got the job based solely on a 30 second TV commercial for a 3D television in 2012. Established and successful directors like Quentin Tarrantino are denied funding for their projects one day, while complete unknowns with a bit of potential are given $100 million dollars to go make a movie the next. What it all boils down to is that if you try to make sense of it, you'll just give yourself a headache.
