I edited my entry for the 2015 Turkey Day because Ashley Holtgraver took the time to comment on my posts and clarified that the people seen in the bumpers were real Kickstarter employees, so I posted a clarification.
She also commented on my Post about the telethon, which she contributed to.

The Mads live event just ended. What a great show! I knew Frank and Trace were a must see comic duo, but their riff of Glen or Glenda had me in stitches!
Heads up: The Mads will be back August 18th for a riff of The Tingler! Tickets are on sale now!

Good news and bad news: The good news is that I got a free digital download of last night's Mads show. Maybe I didn't read the fine print enough, but I wasn't expecting that. That's getting burned to blu-ray ASAP.
The bad news is tonight's Stranger Things Rifftrax show is set up in a way that won't allow me to participate. It's not the fault of the services they're using, I just don't have the internet to support them. So I'm going to have to drop out, sadly.

It's not the fault of the services they're using, I just don't have the internet to support them. So I'm going to have to drop out, sadly. Well, I do have internet that will support them, for all the good it did. It was a disaster. They had a test running of Godzilla (1998) for a while beforehand, and that wasn't working. All I was getting was the movie, with an occasional sound of someone speaking for half a second or so. Then they tried to go live, and had to spend ten or fifteen minutes just trying to get to the point where they could hear one another. At that point, they started up. I gave up after a couple of minutes, when it was clear that they had a lot of bugs to work out. It was all, "Fa_ __t in __e _nch___ed _ack__ter_ of __e _est___ sp__al o_ th_ ga_ax_ li__ a __all" for the riffs. The episode itself kept restarting and repeating footage, but the sound was fine. It was unwatchable. From the chat, it looked as though it was working for some people, but a lot of us were just SOL.

The Rifftrax of Avengers: Endgame is out, because they couldn't stand the idea of not having riffed the highest grossing movie of all time, having jumped from Titanic to Avatar now to Endgame.
My requests for them to riff the lowest grossing movie of all time, reported to maybe be Zyzzyx Road starring Katherine Heigl, have gone unanswered.

He also mentioned another Kickstarter. That's how he got Netflix's attention last time. Maybe it will happen again. I didn't even know about the last Kickstarter until it has been over for a couple of months.

I don't expect a second Kickstarter to do quite as well, but that charity campaign they're doing is doing quite well so who knows.

Just donate and move on. If it pans out, they send you an email or something, right?

That was the fun part because there were constant things flowing our way (especially the hint that Joel might throw the missing KTMAs our way). I just donated maybe a hundred more than I should have. So when I said drained, I meant wallet.

Its gonna take a giant foam monster to take him out Based on his rants about camera equipment, Joe Bob is probably going to get killed by a jib.

BREAKING MST3K NEWS: The MST Twitch channel now has the streaming rights to Quest of the Delta Knights.
Volume 40 DVD set pending? Should it happen, likely episodes to be released with it are Fire Maidens of Outer Space, The Deadly Bees, and The Space Children, which are the remaining films from Paramount's library that needed to see a licensing deal with Olive Films expire before an MST release could be possible. Should Volume 40 happen with this line-up, Season 9 will be completed on DVD.
Remaining episodes that are pretty much solidified as no-gos:
Rocketship X-M - Owned by Wade Williams, who has a pretty strong relationship with Shout Factory. However he has made it clear that he loves this movie and resents the fact that is was on MST, and would rather all copies of the episode in question be burned than exist at all. He even is rumored to have a stipulation about releasing this movie, which would prevent the episode from being released even after it switches hands to another generation. Our best hope is when the film hits public domain...in about fifteen-to-twenty years maybe.
Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster (and Godzilla vs. Megalon re-issue) - Current US rights held by Janis Films, but Toho Company Ltd. has final say on all things Godzilla. The thing about Toho is that even if they understood the show, which they likely don't, is that they've gained a notoriety for their Iron fist controlling of home video releases of their own movies here in the States, and they will usually only allow materials they provide themselves to be released. Even if the people Shout talks to like the show, Toho doesn't own the show and aren't cool with that, so they won't let it be released with their movie. Joel even admitted this at a con where he explained that he wanted some Toho movies for the relaunch, and Shout told him "Don't bother. Their answer is 'no.'" How Godzilla vs. Megalon got released by Rhino (briefly) is still a bit perplexing, though it's pretty much known that they somehow got scammed by a company called Krypton International that claimed they owned the US rights (also Women of the Prehistoric Planet, which was owned by Wade Williams).
The Amazing Colossal Man, It Conquered the World, Attack of the The Eye Creatures, Terror from the Year 5000, & I Was A Teenage Werewolf - Four of these are owned outright by Susan Hart. The one that's a question mark is Eye Creatures, which was based on the screenplay to Invasion of the Saucer Men, and Hart may have copyright claim to based on that she technically owns the screenplay. Hart is notoriously finicky when it comes to the rights to these movies, claiming she'll release them on home media if paid enough, but no company can seemingly offer enough money. In the meantime, she'll sue people for any sort of silly reason that has any outside relation to any of these movies, recently suing Shout Factory over footage use in a documentary they did. There were rumors that a court settlement involved home video rights to these movies, but people close to Hart debunked this (And speaking as someone who has interacted with the person who spread that rumor, he's someone who stretches lies and hyperbole to gain relevance credibility in the fandom. I didn't believe his bullshit for one second.).
Episodes that are currently discontinued:
Gamera, Gamera vs. Barugon, Gamera vs. Gaos, Gamera vs. Guiron, & Gamera vs. Zigra - US rights are currently held by Arrow, and overall rights by Kadokawa. Shout actually released these episodes by dealing directly with a Kadokawa US office and didn't have to deal with their more Japanese stationed counterparts. Apparently those offices are closed now and once Shout's licensing deal expired, that was it.
The Final Sacrifice - Owned by the film's director. He doesn't like the show, and only relented licensing it out when Shout reached a number on their check that he liked. Renewal likely didn't offer as much, so he took his movie and ran.
Soultaker - Strangely enough, this movie is owned by some dentist. I'm sure that's a fascinating story (Pumaman is owned by a winery). I don't know what his deal is, but renewal likely didn't pay enough. Personally, if I randomly oqned the rights to some movie, I'd get what money I could out of it. I'm guessing he knows the film's star/screenwriter Vivian Schilling, who claims to have not seen the MST episode but also seems sour about it, and probably kept it from renewal at her request. But that's just a theory.
Volume 31 also seems to be going out of print, with the likely culprit being Squirm. I'm pretty sure it's owned by MGM, but if it is, they have a good relationship with Shout and Shout could probably renew at the right price. If the film's director has any right to that movie, that's a different story...
