I recently went through all four seasons in preparation for Season 5. In retrospect, maybe I should have updated some of my Thrones lists like "Best episodes," but I did give ratings as I went along:

I just finished the first season of this show and went a couple deep into the second. I dunno, it's pretty good I guess, I suppose I thought I'd enjoy it more than I am. Maybe I'll catch up one day but it's not a show I'm terribly interested in staying with.

A good kickoff episode, on the slow side but obviously setting up quite a bit. I thought Mance's death was going to be rough to watch but thankfully Snow put him out of his misery before it got bad. |

Last night's episode was basically just a series of set-ups. It was literally scene after scene of building towards things. Not a bad thing, we need these episodes too, but not the most riveting episode and not really a whole lot happened. It didn't even have its usual jaw dropper of an ending either, pretty ordinary episode overall.

Last night's episode was really good, namely Arya and John Snow's sequences, they were excellent. Lots of interesting new plot lines and plenty that's been set up for the next 7 episodes, it seems like finally a lot of major players are going to collide with one another this season and I can't wait.
