I think she would've probably been able to skate if she didn't feel the need to post through it.
The initial beep/bop/book thing is insensitive but not inherently transphobic, but she just kept doubling down again and again and again, with each of her new responses worse and more abhorrent than the next. Then to say people going after her was akin to Jewish people and Nazis?

Yeah, it's certainly insensitive and absolutely dumb to keep going on with it but I think that's about the worst you can say about it. And now the conversation is going toward 'well the First Amendment only applies to the government silencing you.' While that's a shaky argument at best, it's also not a good look to imply 'well if a company isn't the government then they can fire anyone at any time for whatever they want, so there.' I don't think that's a road anybody wants to go down. |
