The slow mo horse riding scene made me roll my eyes, still adding more and more characters, hoping the story starts to take shape in the next few episodes. Need something to look forward to.

The third episode was a HUGE step back for this series and has me very worried that this is going to be a huge dud. Why was there so much slow-motion? Why didn't we see Elrond or Celebrimbor or Sauron or anything of significance? Why are there so many characters to bounce around to and yet none of them are interesting?
House of the Dragon seems to be finding its footing. Rings of Power is slipping in a big way before it really got off the ground.
Episode four needs to really right the ship here, but after the last episode I'm not hopeful.

When I first started reading this I thought you were talking House of the Dragon, and I thought all episodes have been pretty awesome so far. But LOTR. Yeah, I'm with ya.

I'm gonna try to stick it out for these last two episodes, though I'm not sure why?

That Mt. Doom (I assume that's what it is) finale was pretty cool. But otherwise this whole series has been a total snoozer.

Well that season was a non-starter. I still can't remember anyone's names, nothing of great importance happens to justify eight episodes of this, and overall the show just suffered from the impossible: it was boring. It looks great, every detail and set piece is topnotch, but the show feels lifeless and too serious. I'll give it another chance in season two, but if anyone hasn't watched an episode yet they aren't missing out on anything.

The actors, and hence the characters, are severely lacking charisma. And the scripts needed to go through a few more drafts and revisions. If you're gonna throw that much money at it, be sure of your writing and casting.

I've watched all 4 episodes of Season 2 so far. Is it an improvement over the first season? Yes. Marginally.
There's just something about this series that make it a real slog to get through. Everyone feels so stiff from all their self-importance. There's no fun in these episodes. They've added a lot more Middle-Earth in this season (Ents, Tom Bombadil, etc.) but it still isn't moving the needle much.
Also, Sauron is basically Venom now? Okay. Sure.
