I hope it wins Best Picture, just to spite Black Panther.

So it's had a decent drop since Venice. On both sites it was hovering in the mid 80's. Not a surprise, as there do seem to be a group of critics dead set on panning the movie.

I follow a handful of critics on twitter, and also have been tracking Venice and TIFF in general, and the ones that are opposed are very loud about their dislike, which seems to be more so than usual with this movie.

I think a lot don't like Todd Phillips because of his "bro comedy" background, among other criticisms pertaining to violence and other hot button topics in today's society.

Obviously I have to form my own opinion when I see it myself, but plenty of critics don't like this movie. Which own it's own is fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I'm sure these points are valid. But constantly letting people know their disdain for it just seems kinda weird and unnecessary.

Probably.  A lot of critics that have been getting verified for Rotten Tomatoes lately I find are "shock jocks" who thumbs down a movie for clicks, and others go with the fanboy flow, or give the film a "safe" rating to avoid backlash.  I don't really have any critic I follow anymore, though sometimes the consensus is interesting to hear.
