I'm definitely curious. Zombie's an inconsistent filmmaker but he's also talented and has a unique voice. This project allows him to break a bit from his usual style while still playing around with his key interests.

This video sucks in all the obvious ways these types of videos suck (dismissing bigotry as "just a couple of bad apples", getting weirdly defensive over the insinuation that some fans may in fact be racist, inability to acknowledge individual/societal bias absolutely can affect one's criticism, populist attitude of "the fans" versus the establishment) but it's also badly edited. A good video essayist will cut together their footage in ways that enhance or support the points their voiceover makes, but this guy clearly gave up about halfway through and just playing random Star Wars and Star Trek b-roll. |

It's bullshit those racists co-opted all criticism of the actor too cuz she's absolutely terrible but I can't say that without sounding alt right.
I also don't think the director is helping her at all. Give her a little direction.

New video is finally here. The Last Picture Show and the Legacy of BBS
I'm not expecting this to become my biggest hit, but it was something of a passion project. BBS fascinates me as a company that oh so briefly stood at the forefront of the New Hollywood, and while Easy Rider was their biggest hit, The Last Picture Show is the company's best movie. In this video, I make a case for it also being the definitive BBS film.
This is also a belated tribute to Peter Bogdanovich. Anyway, I hope y'all like it.

It's also harder to break down and discuss a great movie because a lot has already been said about it unless you really do some research. It's less effort to break down and lampoon something that's silly, that's why Honest Trailers are usually pretty lame whenever they do a movie that's good.
