Most outlets that were airing reruns of the old seasons are dropping them too.

I hear that was the original pilot for Two and a Half Men.

Damn, Dooms must've really been enjoying that new season.

Eh, it had its moments but for the most part it was just so-so, I've seen worse but I've seen much better. It does bother me though that people are losing their jobs because of one dumbass tweet by one person. I don't care about Roseanne, John Goodman or the rest of the cast, they'll be fine. I'm talking about the costume designers, set designers, production assistants, office assistants, lighters, gaffers, carpenters, all the people involved with the production of a television show, they're all out of work. ABC doesn't just toss them onto another show, that's not how it works. They have to go out and find another job and hopefully they'll be able to find one on a show that's hiring. That's why lots of people prefer to work in television rather than film, if they can find a long-term gig they don't have to worry about pounding the pavement unlike movies where you're constantly networking for your next job. These people will all probably be fine but many of them might be spending some time collecting unemployment, for some maybe more time than they would like. But hey Roseanne left a racist tweet so it's all worth it!

Destroy Twitter. It's the only logical course of action.

Seconded.  I never understood why anyone is on Twitter.  It's done infinite amounts of harm to people, deserving or otherwise, while contributing next to nothing positive.  At least with Facebook I can look at the pregnancy photos of chicks I used to be into back in high school.

I'm all for Twitter enabling supremely privileged fuckwits to expose themselves for what they really are.

I mostly use it as an advertisement platform for my blog (I get way more hits through Facebook groups, but my Twitter has grown...slowly, but still), though sometimes it's handy to get a quick contact for a low-key celeb that might be highly interactive with fans or perhaps other website managers you might want to get a hold of.

But IMO Twitter always seemed like a shit idea since day one. An entire social media platform devoted to off the cuff reactions often saying before you can think about it? Gee...I wonder what the problem is. A lot of Twitter is just a cesspool of hate, but I guess it's okay because they hate people who hate back? For example I follow Frank Conniff on Twitter because I want to keep up to speed on MST alumni and future appearances, but the majority of his feed is negative posts about conservatives and saying "Fuck you" in response to whatever Trump's latest dunderheaded Tweet is. It gets cumbersome to wade through. And yes, he's been going on about what a racist Roseanne is for months now, and it's probably going to get worse after this.

Though some good has come out of Twitter for me. I've gotten some interaction with Alan Bagh, the star of Birdemic: Shock and Terror. He even followed me, which was super awesome of him to do. There's a glimmer of positive interaction on Twitter, there's maybe just too much shit to deal with getting there.

It's a useful site. Sometimes you have thoughts that you need the world to hear and they have a slightly better chance of going viral when they're on Twitter than when they're on CS or something. It's also a good way to encounter sick burns and help them spread.

I will say while I enjoyed the Roseanne revival, I do feel a bit sorry for the rest of the cast who was gung no to do this and are now just left in the wind. John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf will be fine, because they're amazing. I feel worst for Sara Gilbert, who really seemed to cheerlead this entire thing and really just gave this thing everything she had, and it has all crumbled to dust because Roseanne fucked it up.

Maybe this is an opportunity to evolve this into a Darlene spinoff. I was enjoying her family dynamic personally, though yes most of the humor in the series came from Roseanne's brashness like always.
