Not yet, but considering tomorrow's my birthday, I might treat myself to one or two more. I'm thinking about Following, so I can round out Christopher Nolan's pre-Tenet filmography in my collection. There's also Silence of the Lambs, The Royal Tenenbaums and Pan's Labryinth among others also on my shortlist, along with The Princess Bride. But I've heard the packaging of that one looks cool, but isn't very shelf-friendly. If you're in the market for blind buying, I've mentioned it before but The Red Shoes is one of my favorite Criterion's, it's like a 1940s Black Swan. Also if you liked Seven Samurai I think Hidden Fortress would be another good intro to Kurosawa. And as you probably know, it was an inspiration for Star Wars.

Well, not surprisingly, my blind buy of Naked Lunch ended with me ultimately returning it to Amazon for a refund in the form of gift card money there. So I might stick to movies I know I already like for now.
Also, guys, Amazon right now has a lot of Criterion Blu Rays priced at $22.97 a piece and after shipping/tax cost, they come out to around $24.96, which is about the same price you'd get through B&N after shipping/taxes too even through the list price is 3 bucks cheaper. Plus, if you are a Prime member like me, you get them delivered MUCH sooner. That's where I got 12 Angry Men, The Manchurian Candidate, The Player and now Following from. Worth a look, just FYI.

B&N gives free shipping on orders over $35, so as long as you buy more than one at a time they'd still have the lowest price.

Just ordered from them. Grabbed The Game, Ugetsu, and The Magnificent Ambersons. Expect to be waiting a long time. That's okay. I like supporting a local business.

I wound up in Barnes and Noble for a little bit today and perused their Criterions. I came across The Big Chill (which I just recently saw -- see my Monthly Top Five for July), which I had no idea was on Criterion. So I ended up getting that.

This isnt gonna be their only announcement this month, is it? They usually announce these boxed sets a week before their usual monthly announcements. Might mean this month's is lighter than usual but it is going to be November so who knows. December is always a barren wasteland though so don't expect much next month.

The bad news for 1godzillafan is that means the Dennis Dugan Criterion box set has been pushed that much further.

PG Cooper Is this legit? Is Canada getting the sale?? Just ordered from them. Grabbed The Game, Ugetsu, and The Magnificent Ambersons. Clearly Canada was clamoring for a Criterion sale. It took them 19 days to fill one day's worth of orders....

'Founded in 1984, it is highly selective...' then they throw in Lena Dunham.
