The Cries and Whispers release is all I needed (don't know about that cover art though...). Definately checking out that Truffaut movie, but I'm not sure if I'm going to upgrade my Hoop Dreams DVD too soon (that was shot on video right? Don't know how much the extra resolution is needed). Thin Blue Line is a really good movie but not necessarily one I need to own and I never really got the appeal of those other two Morris movies.

That's pretty awful. Although it will at least give me the incentive to finally purchase it.

I just hope that if they release a trilogy box set they still have a separate case for each movie

The article just says they're "trying" to get the rights, so it's by no means a sure thing and even if they get them it can take a very long time to get transfers in order and whatnot, so I wouldn't hold my breath. That said, there are rumors that they're going to have more access to Warner Brothers movies in the near future so there is some hope. There are also rumors that Criterion will be putting out a special edition of Boyhood at some point, which seemed plausible given the work they've done with IFC, but it's potential status as an Academy Awards condender could change that and the fact that the regular Blu-ray release is being handled by Paramount rather than in-house by IFC is not a good sign.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if "Boyhood" got a Criterion release anytime soon for just those reasons, and if it wins Best Picture then forget about it.

It's not completely hopeless. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was a Criterion release pretty quickly even though it was a big Oscar winning behemoth.

I enjoy reading the comments on the Facebook page. Every month people howl with rage when a new Wes Anderson or David Lynch film isn't announced. Brings a small smile to my face.

I'll always take another Chaplin, that's good news.
Maybe I'm getting old and soft but I'm unfamiliar with most of the new releases the past 6 months or so, tough for me to get excited.

I'm only excited for Cries and Whispers. I'd like to see the Costa-Gavras films though.

Yes it is, and it inspired "Tokyo Story" so it makes it even more awesome.

Ok, that site is actually pretty badass. They have a very interesting assortment of material on there. Though I also point out that a lot of the movies they have on there are Criterion films.
