Not enough lens flare in the new Star Wars? The Internet has your back.

Exactly!! So only the prequels started showing the episode numbers in the trailers, just to remind everyone that they were, yes, prequels. So to answer Jibbs question, JJ isn't really fucking the title scheme of the Star Wars franchise but, as a whole, embracing the spirit of the originals while still bringing something new to the table. Er, no. What it means is, we can't be sure yet.

It'd be funny if Abrams was known for lens flares.

Indeed. The only way to make it funny would be to over-kill it, which just makes it annoying.

He may have left them out, sure, but not as respect to the original trailers. Us internet nerds would notice something like that, not him, nor would any reference to those choices be well-placed.

For all we know maybe the whole movie is just one glaring lens flare.

He may have left them out, sure, but not as respect to the original trailers. Us internet nerds would notice something like that, not him, nor would any reference to those choices be well-placed. Well, most of my answer came from the giddy fan boy I've been the past few days, but I really believe that when deciding the title scheme, he did have to consider that both of the trilogies that came before had two different ways approaching it, with chapters in the trailer and without, and he decided to follow the formula of the originals from 30 years ago, rather the formula from the trilogy that came out only last decade. Now why he chose the version he did may not really be out of respect for the original trailers, but since it was a trailer, he did sit in meeting after meeting with his highly paid marketing team, and board of directors, and they dissected every possible way that they would present the trailer for one of the most highly anticipated, and profitable, movies of this decade, as well as probably viewed and reviewed every trailer that came out for the films before to see what worked and what didn't. I guarantee him and his team would notice something like that and it played in their decision to leave the chapters out.

If I had to guess, I'd say the original trailers made sense to omit the episode numbers, as it would have confused general movie-goers.

TWO SIDES OF THE INTERNET.THE Nilade SIDE Well, now you've done it, you've shown that poster:
While the poster is very nice looking, it's completely built around the random things we were shown for the teaser. Now perhaps people know the casting more than me and this is wrong, but these were the only two faces we saw and bam, they go into the fan art. They might be pretty minor characters. So, what else can we throw in, the Falcon and the lightsaber. Well great, they're pretty, but now you have the bad guy saber right next to a good guy. It's just a blind worship of what they've thrown at us so far.
So yeah, it bugs me. I'm surprised the droid isn't in there.
