I don't exactly see the point of those lazer handles on the lightsabers... they mostly seem like a good way to get your wrists cut off. lightsaber itself is a good way to get hands, head, and body cut-off |

Looked more or less like a Star Wars movie. The cockpit POV was fun to see. The Falcon was fun to see. The lightsaber design is gaudy and impractical.
Over all I remain guarded.

Looked more or less like a Star Wars movie. The cockpit POV was fun to see. The Falcon was fun to see. The lightsaber design is gaudy and impractical. Over all I remain guarded. I'm just not ready for another relationship with it yet. Yep.
It was nice to see the Falcon, but did we have to do a barrel roll with it? It's the fact that I can get annoyed so quick that worries me for this movie. I can't believe I'm saying this, but he'd be wise to channel his inner Lucas when making this...but he won't.

He won't be able to do the fancy twirling, like in the prequels, that's for sure. The lightsaber was the weirdest thing to me. I have no idea how those little handles are going to work, but never mind that. What's up with the way the blade looks? It looks like it's shooting out flames with lightning bolts. Let's hope they're not trying to reinvent the way they work.

Not to be "that guy," but the thing I got most from this was it still doesn't have "Episode VII" in the title...is JJ really going to fuck with both "Star" franchises' title schemes?? Did they show the episode numbers in the previous trailers of the other movies? I could've sworn they were only in the scrolling space synopsis at the beginning of each flick. So I watched the trailer the first time today on my pc as soon as I woke up, then on my phone at work, then made it out to the theater tonight and caught it on the big screen, and every time I got goosebumps. It really took advantage of being a teaser, but it was enough to rekindle the fire that's been burning since the sequels were first announced. In each scene we were thrust into something major happening for about 4 seconds, then yanked back out and left wanting more, but as a consolation prize, we get a money shot of the Millennium Falcon in action while being serenaded by the score. The perfect teaser. |

Exactly!! So only the prequels started showing the episode numbers in the trailers, just to remind everyone that they were, yes, prequels. So to answer Jibbs question, JJ isn't really fucking the title scheme of the Star Wars franchise but, as a whole, embracing the spirit of the originals while still bringing something new to the table. |
