I had a feeling they'd do this. I think it'll be done similarly to The Jungle Book in that it will have live action plates filmed (in a studio) and stitched together. The only difference will be no humans (basically the Jungle Book sans Mowgli).

Not particularly impressed with the CGI so far. Doesn't look that much better (or at all) than Jungle Book. But I'll say I'm looking forward to it. Without a mix of real human actors, the CGI shouldn't be as distracting and blend better together.
I was hoping they would (or that they do still) release a teaser ala the original Lion King. It was just the entire intro to the movie. Attach it to Mary Poppins or something.

Yeah, the CGI on Simba doesn't look all that great as of now. Granted, there's still eight months to go. But honestly...I'm just mostly ambivalent about this. I was in the minority on The Jungle Book in that I didn't go nuts over it (it was fine), and this is Favreau again, plus the fact that he fucking cut Be Prepared out of the movie is a travesty.
