This should have been the easiest movie to adapt. The screenplay, cinematography, music, all had been written down for you to make the best CGI love fest.

Aladdin had the same scoring and people (apparently) loved it, so I can't imagine most should be too worried.
Since I wasn't one of the ones who did, this does bum me out. The only live-action adaptation from Disney that I've enjoyed so far is Jungle Book, so I was hoping Favreau would deliver again. Although I only ever saw JB once.

I'm honestly not surprised/disappointed by this. I'm one of the few on the planet who didn't go apeshit over Favereau's Jungle Book, and a big reason why was because while everything certainly looked so photorealistic, because of that, the animal's faces couldn't emote properly and thus created a disconnect. Which ironically inspired Polar Express flashbacks for me. So it's no wonder the same is true here. There's a price for making the animals look so real.

And yes, I was one of the ones bitching that it wasn't going to be in at first. If this half-assed version is what they tried to appease us with...go back to not including it. Chiwetel Ejiofor doesn't even sound like he wants to be singing. Plus, it's not even the whole song. It's just the second half.
