I'm intrigued by the pilot, giving it a shot.

I really liked it as well... It's funny even on a new station and different story. Keifer Sutherland makes it look like 24.

I liked the pilot, I'd give it a B+ but I'm hoping they don't make it into some conspiracy 24-esque show which it seems like they're setting up. I'll give it a couple episodes but I think the show could go either way.

Yeah I'm still liking it.
Carries some network TV production problems, but not enough to make it unwatchable.

But part of the tension to me is expecting him to go Jack Bauer on someone. That he's so idealistic yet still hardass is kinda refreshing. He's like a way more realistic Jed Bartlett. And ain't that damning for Aaron Sorkin.

I'm really liking the show so far. You can definitely see influences of not just 24, but The West Wing/American President as well.

March? March! This show isn't gonna make it to a 2nd season. Who's idea was it to keep this show off the air for over 3 months? And worse, they ended their mid season finale on a ridiculous cliffhanger.

I'll try to see it through this season, but I agree the 3 month layoff is kinda weird.

And worse, they ended their mid season finale on a ridiculous cliffhanger. That's the model ABC has been using for some of their more serialized shows the past few seasons, especially Once Upon A Time, whch is doing the same thing. I think their logic is they want to try and follow the cable model of showing episodes straight through, so their solution is divide seasons up into two halves and show each half of the season without reruns. The catch is, it requires a big chunk of time off in the middle.

The same shit happened last year with Limitless. I really enjoyed the show but CBS started fucking around with the schedule and I never made it past mid season. The show got cancelled.

Yeah, Limitless was surprisingly good. But it was confined to CBS' more random airing schedule where, after September through December, they basically aired episodes whenever they felt like it. Solution: shorter seasons. That's the problem with 22-24 episodes per season.

I think The CW might be the best right now in terms of dividing up their longer seasons. It's not ABC's or NBC's split-season approach, but they still divide them up in such a way where they can show a batch straight through -- usually, except in certain cases, like elections or other events -- but still have new episodes every month from October through May.
