Watched the first two eps of the season; so far quite good. I felt that the scenes with Drummer and whats-his-face were adscititious, but I see where they are going to be going with it now.

As I've mentioned, I've been stuck home with injury for the last couple months. One thing I did with my time was read the first five Expanse books. Once I got a surgery date I lost steam and haven't touched them since, but maybe I'll finish the series sometime.
Fifth book was a lot of fun, can't wait for the new season.

IanTheCoolThese first 4 have been so much fun. About what I expected when they said next season would be the final, not as fun but still a good storyline.

Ugh, I'm remembering why I hate weekly release schedules. Every bloody episode a cliffhanger, with only minor progress from episode to episode. I was trying to hold out till the end of the season, but I caved. Thankfully there's only two left, as I'm going to try to wait until the last one is out to continue.

Thoughts? I love the space battles in this show, even though there aren't that many. Some good emotional moments this season sprinkled in. The one death was abrupt, but expected.
While I enjoyed it, it definitely feels like a filler season. I'm not sure I've ever described an entire season that way, but that's probably how I'm going to view this one in the future when watching them all back to back. It wasn't bad, but rather kinda slow, feeling like it was being dragged along. Stories that would normally feel like they would or could take place over just 3 or 4 episodes, not the entirety of a season. Either way, hopefully just a filler season leading into an explosive finale. That upon repeat views, this could be a good buildup to the final season.
Season 6 is the last. With that in mind I'm crossing my fingers we'll have a well-planned, satisfying payoff. I really don't want another Game of Thrones where it feels rushed, and that's my biggest worry at this point.

Can't wait to see em shove all the cool shit from 3 novels into one (/s).
Agreed on this season - I felt the naomi story line was absolutely grating. Since they had to combine the 5th book to lead it into the next 3 somehow gracefully it def felt wonky and a bit stiff at times.
I liked how they handled the death but it def felt like they didn't call him in, used previous footage and threw a blood stream on him and used previous audio too.

I was not privy to the drama plaguing the cast this summer so the "event" blindsided me pretty hard. I was very confused and disappointed until I found out why. Then just very disappointed. It kinda colored my opinion of the finale but now that the dust has settled 5 is stronger than 4, but the 3 is still my favorite season.
However, I cannot wait to see where this goes. I heard there is potential to finish out the series with films, but I don't know how much merit that has.
Also, Drummer is bae.
