Yes, but Jackson's public handling of the Carmelo situation has been awful. In his tenure, the only good thing you can point to is drafting Porzingis. He and Dolan together are the biggest disaster since, well, Dolan and Isaiah Thomas together. Is Phil Jackson still living in L.A.? You can't run a business through Skype. I believe he's in New York. Plus his long-time engagement to Jeannie Buss was called off.

Kings trade DeMarcus Cousins to Pelicans. I think the Kings didn't get nearly enough in return, and I question how Cousins and Anthony Davis will work in New Orleans. Neverending thoughts?

Both teams are nearly identical in quality. This is like Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC trading singers and expecting something different.

Well, but Anthony Davis is one of the top 5 players in the NBA. They now have the two best big men in the NBA... but not much else. Jrue Holliday is solid, but he's nowhere near the All-Star he was with the 76ers. I mean, technically this makes the Pelicans better. But I feel like they've stockpiled their way to an incredible (on paper) front court while failing to fix the remaining glaring issues.

They're 2.5 games behind Denver for the 8 seed. Davis and Cousins alone are the most talented duo of any teams vying for the final spot. Portland has been a disaster all year, Nuggets have talent but not a lot, and Dallas isn't a legit threat. Kings, absolutely not. After this trade they have less talent than the Suns and Nets. So Pelicans SHOULD make playoffs, but we'll see how they mesh.

Yes, they could.
Anyone who has read any of Magics tweets or listened to any of his analysis would know he is a simpleton and a dolt.
Great player, will be a terrible member of team management.

We live in a basketball world where the Lakers and Mavericks suck. I like this basketball world.

I'm gonna channel it at the Warriors and hope they lose to the Spurs. What a joke it would be if Durant didn't even get a ring with them, his legacy would be tarnished forever.

I was literally just discussing that at work. There's more pressure on Durant than LeBron. LeBron built a team. Durant went to a championship team. Anyway, NOW, I know why you tagged me on the Pelicans. Yeah... the Celtics fucked up. They should have gotten DeMarcus and possibly beat LeBron at the Playoffs. Cavs and Celtics are neck and neck right now. They needed the push.

Yeah, the Celts should've bit on that.
They got too many picks/stashed players they should unload for better talent.

Celtics have Horford, so that would've been a good swap if they moved Horford and a pick and a decent enough role player for Cousins and Casspi, something like that. Kings certainly wouldn't be getting roasted for their awful trade, they got peanuts in return for DeMarcus. I don't necessarily see it as a missed opportunity for Boston though. I still like them a lot and think they can absolutely challenge Cleveland. To me, it's them, the Raptors, and Cleveland in the East. Chemistry is a huge factor, and Boston has a great team dynamic going for them. Yes, Boogie and Thomas loved playing together in Sacramento and would've thrived together in Boston, but I don't have a problem with Boston standing pat. They're still loaded with picks. Maybe they get Gordon Hayward in the offseason from Utah.
Oh no doubt, the pressure this season is ENTIRELY on Durant and the Warriors. If they don't win it all, it's a failed season, bottom line. And it won't be Durant's fault per se, because he's been remarkably efficient all season. Curry gets too cute with his passing and wild 3's. Yes, he makes most of these, but his carelessness cost the Warriors the title last season. Are they the favorites? Of course. But keep in mind they've lost MULTIPLE games by double digits this season, which I find alarming. If I'm putting money on it, I'm going Spurs to the Finals. In the East.... I wanna see how Ibaka stacks up for Toronto, but something tells me for now Cleveland is still top dog.

Only a miracle can stop LeBron from going to the Finals. Or fatigue. He has to tire out eventually.

Nerlens Noel traded to Mavericks. I hate to say it, but that was a good pickup for Dallas.

SnoBorderZeroMy Celtics hating friends were saying they would be a 1st place team to lose in the 1st round. After last night's game, I would laugh if that turned out to be true. Also interested to hear your thoughts on the Spurs. People are saying they have a shot against the Warriors. That's just crazy in my opinion. This year will likely be Warriors-Cavs for the 3rd straight time.
