No, I mean trailers this close to release typical spoil all sorts of shit. Season 4 is split into 2 parts. First one in May. Second one in July. So really nothing to spoil since the 1st part will be pure setup.

Lotta disparate threads and storylines, sucks we have to wait for the conclusion but it's still effective and pretty good at what it does.
Def feels more brutal this year for sure.

I've got the final episode to go, and I agree that I've been much more hooked on this season than the previous entries. It's darker, the upside-down sequences are really striking, and the character dynamics are strong enough to make having everyone spread out work better than it should.

Volume 1 was wonderful. I don't think they wanted to separate the last two episodes - there was a delay, I think. Too bad.

Those last two eps tho... Man that was a lotta forced closure.
Felt longer than return of the king sometimes with that wrap up.

Finale was too long, yeah.
And while I'm really enjoying this series, they sure are recycling the same shit over and over. I wonder what's going to keep Eleven away and from helping in season 5?

Finally finished it last night. Final two episodes were solid, but far too long.
It was interesting how Mike and Will's group were basically reduced to nothing this season. They really didn't have anything to do other than be late to everything. It's an example of perhaps stretching too many characters across too many storylines that I hope is cleaned up for season five.
Overall though I liked the darker edge to this season and Vecna as a villain worked for me. It's definitely time for this show to end, but hopefully the Duffer Bros. have saved some of their best ideas for the final season.

If anything it's the Russian storyline that I could have done without. Basically no clue how that connected into anything. Would have been fine if the David Harbour character had just stayed dead.

Yea the whole Russian storyline better make some sort of sense by the end. Why were we there? Is this the end of the Russians?
Badass Brett gellman aside (imagine saying that just a short handful of years ago) it was a real slog to get through and didn't really add all that much. Even the tearful reunions at the end were just extended for no reason. Did people have major emotional connections to that?
And poor will having to repeat that heart line made me cringe and laugh out loud multiple times.
Should wipe out some og characters and replace all their lines with more argyle. Guy stays focused on the story and adds some humor with a decidedly less melodramatic bent.

True, that also felt like filler but it was a lot more fun than the California Crew just driving around from place to place. It seemed like the Duffers really just didn't know how to make each storyline interesting. They put all their focus on Eleven/Vecna (which makes sense) and everyone else is running around trying to contribute as best they can.

Maybe it's me, but I don't think Will is a strong enough actor for the closeted gay storyline.
Or maybe it's that haircut. Either way, didn't really hit me as well as I thought it would.

None of them are what I would call "great actors."

Production on season 5 has finally commenced. I think the cast is only 30 years old now.
