Another prison rescue episode, siiiigh. I expected this show to blow Boba Fett out of the water but now I don't know which one is better (or worse).
This show is basically The Mandalorian in that it's a hero protecting a kid and toting them around trying to get out of trouble. There's just no arc to Obi-Wan, you could slug in any Jedi and have the same show. I know it's Star Wars so fans will give it a complete pass just like anything they're fed but it makes you wonder how much longer they'll tolerate the same thing being repackaged over and over again.

This show is basically The Mandalorian Don’t be upset you got ripped off. Be glad you were worthy of it.

Last episode was decent. That ending really bothered me though, for three main reasons.
1. The message from Organa made no organic sense, especially him bringing up 'the boy" and Tattooine in the message. This was only there for this ending. Very clumsy writing. 2. Its also bad writing in that there didnt appear to be any set-up with the Obi-Wan's com device. He just realized it was missing at the end of the scuffle. We didnt see how he lost it (or if we did I missed it), which seems like screenwriting 101. 3. The moment is played up for tension but ultimately has none. We know Luke is going to be fine, and beyond that we know he's not even going to be touched by or be aware of the danger, as he doesn't know Ben's true nature and knows very little about the world beyond.

Am I to understand they had an empty spaceship for Vader to waste time with on the chance he showed up after it took off but before it got away? Was there a pilot?
For a moment I kind of liked Vader fighting that woman mostly by avoiding her, like to say "I'm so much better and bigger than you that I'm not even goign to dignify this with a duel." But then he's like "let's crash thundersticks." (I'm sure she'll be fine without a stomach)
So glad they spent time writing a program for Leia's droid in the chance that she escaped and needed to sabotage something. (A program complete with blue-to-red LED changing so we know what's going on)

Honestly, I'm feeling very scammed with Disney+ right now. Same shit's happening with every Marvel show. Each series feels the same.

We didnt see how he lost it (or if we did I missed it), which seems like screenwriting 101. There's a very quick shot of Kumail Nanjiani dropping it, turning around and seeing it on the ground like 2 feet behind him then presumably thinking 'nope, I'm in too much of a hurry, can't be bothered to pick up the seemingly important stuff Obi-Wan tasked me to safeguard.' But that still doesn't explain why Obi-Wan gave him all his gear when his plan was to meet up with them anyways. And Reva's plan/double cross was 'I'm going to capture Obi-Wan, then put him in the hangar with only two Stormtroopers guarding him while the 100 other ones wait outside. Hope he doesn't escape!' I know him escaping was the plan but it all seems very clunky and silly, just like this entire show. And this series still has revealed nothing new about Obi-Wan, he's still just running around trying to protect Leia who's apparently some electrical hacker now. And again, Vader brings down an entire ship using the Force and as soon as he crashes it to the ground another ship immediately takes off behind it (still now sure how that worked) and he just watches it fly away, almost exactly like the fire he puts out then refuses to put out again a few episodes back. This show....

I mean, you'd think he'd use the force to take out the engine. It'd be quick and easy, and he could then hit the second one.

Honestly your memory of history is unreliable if you don't think Trek nerds were constantly bitching out Voyager and Enterprise weekly with each new episode.

I don't believe anyone who says they liked Boba Fett. I'm starting to think the same about people who claim to enjoy Obi-Wan too.

Spoiler 1: Are you telling me that Obi-Wan defeated Vader again and once again, just like in Episode III, he refused to finish him off? That weak shit is what led to EVERYTHING going to hell, and Obi-Wan does it again! You've gotta be shitting me! Spoiler 2: We all knew Qui-Gon would show up again, it's just too bad it was in the final, final scene of the series, has two lines and is more of a general greeting rather than delivering anything of substance. Ultimately, an Obi-Wan series that we didn't need which also never added anything to his character, or any character really. There's a big sense of diminishing return with these Star Wars series and considering how this was the most anticipated I wonder which direction ratings will go from here.

Ultimately, an Obi-Wan series that we didn't need which also never added anything to his character, or any character really. This was a movie stretched into 6-hours of television. Episodes 1, 2, 5 & 6 would have made a half-decent 2-hour movie. The Inquisitors are on the hunt for the remaining members of the now defeated Jedi order which includes Obi-Wan Kenobi. They stumble into information that ties Obi-Wan with Jimmy Smits, and so, they kidnap Princess Leia in an attempt to lure Obi-Wan out of hiding. It works. But along the way, Obi-Wan comes across an underground network of Jedi under the leadership of Ice Cube’s son and Kumail Nanjiani. Now he must rescue Leia and also protect this group from the Empire. That all culminates in one last battle with his former Padawan. That’s all fine and dandy. And what worked in the series, really shined. The issues here were the character of Reva and the unnecessary episodes that had lapse in logic and dragged out the story. I know the Solo movie flopped and that killed many projects in the works, but as I said, this would have been fine as a movie. Other than Reva chasing down Luke, which is stupid for many reasons, Episode 6 is pretty good. I actually enjoyed the fight between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader and Obi-Wan coming to terms that Anakin Skywalker is dead. That made their interaction in Star Wars (New Hope) make a lot more sense. And the whole ending was great too. I think it hit all the right emotional beats.
