I know I don't watch all teasers and trailers, but was there any indication this was going to be a series focusing on Leia? I don't think so. As far as I know there weren't any nods to Leia anywhere. Could be wrong but I never saw any.

Is Flea playing the same character from Back to the Future? Have we entered the multiverse?

I am enjoying this so far. Its a little disappointing they are following the Mando formula of escorting a kid around, but whatever.
One thing that is bugging me about these new star wars shows is kind of hard to articulate, but I think it has something to do with how much ordinary, real world stuff they are throwing in. For example, having employees punch time cards, or regular drug deals, or a pretty common looking train station. It makes the universe seem more practical, sure, but less special? It does affect the atmosphere and feel I think.

Luke Skywalker was a blue collar worker. Obi Wan hired Han Solo at a bar. Darth Vader was basically an enforcer for General Tarkin. Our heroes had to escape a trash compactor. The Rebel Alliance used an Apple II computer to access the blueprints to the Death Star.

I just...can't with the writing in these serieses. I'm half tempted to put the worst of the worst dialogue in a montage for this show.
The first lines of dialogue are literally the Inquistor asking someone to define who they are and what they're doing. Just wonderful exposition.

This reva or Rena or whatever is an absolutely atrocious actress. Why would anyone hire her?
Leia is no better.
And the choices by the direction... Questionable at best.

I really enjoyed how in the first episode the Jedi escaped from the bar by...knocking down a little canopy. Inquisitors stopped right in their tracks. No navigating around that 3 foot impenetrable blockade.

Oh God, that was hilarious. It honestly felt like parody. The canopy was basically two people-shaped holes.

Like how she decided to parkour during the roof chase for no reason? In the first episode of Boba Fett there's that scene when Fennec is chasing those assassins on the rooftops. The assassin stuntmen did so much silly and unnecessary parkour that they had to go back into those shots and add CG building equipment and other obstacles to help justify all their flips and twirls. It was really funny to watch before they went in and fixed them, it was ridiculous.

Shit, I forgot about her parkour, too. The worst being the BACK flip, which could only lose momentum. I honestly feel like I'm watching something only for children.

I'm hoping the guy everyone knows from Rebels is still alive, because he was more intrigueing to me. I was like... holy shit, is she going to kill him? The guy that's far more interesting than her?
I can't get over Leia. How did they manage to make the mistake of doing young Anakin all over again and it's somehow even worse? Granted, I guess many of us thought that it might have been Luke getting a spotlight. Leia kinda makes more sense since her and Obi-Wan had a history we haven't explored.
On a positive side, a story about Leia and Obi-Wan's relationship actually does seem like a good idea to me and I hadn't even thought about it. Although I feel like watching them coming to know eachother while she's older probably would have been better. You know, with an actress who's more seasoned and can actually do the action scenes, so maybe mid-teens? Seriously... why does she run like that? I can only assume the director, who sadly has done the entire series, just thought she looked super cute and went with it.
Having said that, Leia is supposed to be 10... and they cast an 8 year old? Why? Why not cast a 12 or 13 year old with a little more acting chops and just say she's 10? I'm slightly bewildered.

I can't get over Leia. How did they manage to make the mistake of doing young Anakin all over again and it's somehow even worse? This is going to sound really dumb but I'm (mostly) serious. I've probably mentioned in another thread but lots of people in Hollywood don't have kids. They might be married but many if not most if not a lions share of the people don't have children. Not that it's a bad thing but I think it affects how kids are portrayed. One of my pet peeves in film/tv is that for some reason it's impossible for filmmakers to nail child characters. They're never kids, they're sarcastic, smartass characters who try to act like adults and exist only to inconvenience the main characters and cause conflict. That's what Leia does in Obi-Wan. That's what every child character does whenever there's a kid on screen. Dakota Fanning made a career of doing that in the early 2000s. War of the Worlds, Man on Fire, she was an adult in a kids body but did nothing but create tension. Anyways, I think if more people in Hollywood had kids they might be better at writing them and not making them solely sources of drama and angst. Speaking of Leia, I also very much enjoyed how she saw the hologram of Obi-Wan and instead of her thinking 'they must be looking for him because they know I'm with him' which would have been the logical conclusion for not just a child but for anybody, she instantly surmises 'I'm just bait and they're really looking for this guy, I can't trust him' which never would have happened. More great writing!

So Vader creates a fire pit to burn Kenobi but then puts out the fire pit using the Force so as not to kill him.
Then the helper lady reignites the fire pit to protect Kenobi and...Vader just stands there as they escape. Even after he put out the same fire pit 10 seconds earlier.
Someone should have taken another pass at all these scripts.

Blame the direction. Even if for some reason this was actually in the script, the director should be smart enough to realize this and change it.
Honestly, it would have been an easy change, if you didn't mind removing the added fire torture bit (nevermind the oddity of him being dragged through fire and it not burning his face or hair). It could have just been a setup for her to set the fire. Make note of the debris falling between them. Have Vader pick up and choke Obi-Wan. Lady shows up and shoots the canister, lighting said debris, causing a big fire to break out which permits Obi-Wan to be rescued and get away. Simple.
