A lot of fans want him to return as Obi-Wan, and Ewan seems pretty ecstatic about returning as well. Hopefully that means we will indeed see him back again.
This interview also seems to confirm, at least at the time of this conversation, that we will not be seeing him in the current trilogy as a ghost or otherwise. Not that he could talk about it even if he was, but he seems pretty convincing when he says he knows nothing about it.

I thought he was rather bland and boring as Obi Wan.

Are we talking stand-alone? Of course he shouldn't appear in the new trilogy as a ghost, that would be as silly as having Hayden Christianson return as the ghost of Anakin! C'mon guys, stop with the silly ideas.

Id rather have an Ahsoka Tano movie and Obi Wan could guest Star with Cad Bane and Old Rex Popping Up in it. We have no live action entry to Clone Wars which was written better then the movies. Give the guy who made Cone Wars who is doing Rebels a two Part or 3 part movie and this way we dont gotta have Obi Wan, Ahsoka or even a Bobba Fett seperate movies. Just call it Vader's Padwan Episode 1.

I think Obi Wan with Mc Gregor was that he was paying him with Ben Kenobi s worst impulses which he was strict and in his ways failed too prepare Anakin too handle temptations of the dark side. Old Kenobi is more relaxed just chilling. Ofcourse Older ben under Sir Alec is more likable. He is a fully realized jedi and can handle his mistakes as a former master. Ewan I think as an older Ben Kenobi will blend into that hologram role. Or maybe its a some sort of flash back from a Snoke perspective.

You cannot change star wars history for there was a clone war and episodes 1 ,2,3 make it cannon unless the go back and remake the prequels which is not needed. The fact that Vader aka Anakin had a padwan who may not have been evil was a big mistake too leave out in the movies. Ahsoka could have had a stand alone movie and it would prove how far along of jedi anakin was.

You can convince me the prequels were canon, you can not convince me those cartoons were.
Even so, its best not to mention prequels in new movies. It will make it easier to forget they happened.

And yet we need a Boba Fett movie around his life after his father dies in the clone wars. Most of these stand alone flicks are in between Episodes 3 and 4. Except I am guessing whatever they are doing with Yoda. I hear there is gonna be a 7 Samurai type story and Yoda is one of them and maybe Zack Snyder will direct it cause my guess is JL will be stalled and Snyder Fired from the B V S Box Office Fall. Snyder may need a job.

Well I am certain Boba will likely be Least Han Solo s age. Im just saying Boba is changed and made by events in the clone wars. We cannot pretend the Prequels and characters are not canon from that era. And not all things Lucas did with it is bad.

Well there big iconic character for geek star wars lovers so you gonna get a Han Solo, Obi Wan Kenobi and a Boba Fett movie. Its because these are the stand alone character they wanna do and oh yes and Yoda. yoda makes and most since I give you that other then Solo. Most likely because I think people wanna see a Knight Of An Older republic. In a Time Before The Sith. I for one would like stories not so connected. Boba Fett and Rogue One are likely too cash in on the Vader character too get old fans butts in the seats.

Its a Story Arc I Heard When They First Was going too do A Boba Fett movie. I think Sam Jackson mentioned he could be coming back too a Star Wars story and not being a Ghost. The Whole Boba Fett being used and Vader hiring him was part of those early story rumors. It could have changed by now script wise but i dont see it changing much from the Empire and Jabba The Hutt not being in this tale. I mean it pretty obvious Boba and Vader had did buisness before in Empire kinda. |

I guess it's worth noting that it seems obvious, now, that if they were to use Obi-Wan as a force ghost in the new sequels, they would probably go the CGI route. Rogue One may have even been the test bed for that very thing. Not to say they wouldn't get Ewan to do the voice, of course.
Granted, I'd rather Ewan just do it entirely, if they were going to. Just slap some old makeup on him. He'll be all glowy and see-through anyway. That would make for a better connection to any possible Obi-Wan movies in the future. Then again, I thought they should have done the same thing with Guy Henry.
