Supposedly they worked a lot more on the fight choreography. I hope that's true. If there was one thing Iron Fist should have done better than Daredevil, it was that. We'll see.

Just got through watching episode one of season two. It's definitely a step up from season one. The number of action sequences has been significantly increased, and Danny isn't whining or acting like a child anymore. The quality of the fight scenes in improved as well. Sadly, Ward and Joy are still around, but that's not really surprising. There are people who actually liked season one, so I suppose they had to be kept around to make those folks with terrible taste happy. It's still too early to tell if the series is going to be any good, but I never once found myself yelling at the screen to, "DO SOMETHING!" like I did almost non-stop in the first episode of season one.

I'm probably not going to start Iron Fist for about a week or two. I've been distracted by shiney objects and also want to finish the six episodes of Cloak & Dagger I never watched before I start another Marvel series. I look forward to more Colleen Wing. She was the highlight of season one by a mile.
But when Daredevil drops I'll be all over that shit on day one.

I love this season.
And I was one of the few that enjoyed Season 1. Better than Jessica Jones, which took me forever to even finish season 1 of.
I'm seriously digging all the actions this time around, its like hes now an actual fighter.

Don’t worry, everyone who hated or disliked season 1 is really enjoying this as well. I never thought season 1 of daredevil could be topped, but my gosh this is easily the best thing Marvel TV/Netflix has made.

I'm seriously digging all the actions this time around, its like hes now an actual fighter. Well, for the most part, he's wearing a "mask" and a hoodie. It makes it easier to put in a trained double for most of those scenes. But, the overall writing and tone are much better, for sure.

I still need to watch Luke Cage Season 2 and Cloak and Dagger.
But I'm also one of the few who actually liked Season 1 of this. Oh no, apparently that means I have terrible taste!

I thought season one was okay. Loved Colleen, and some of the final episodes were pretty cool.
But then again I thought Inhumans was mostly fine as well, and apparently that's a far greater sin than liking season one of Iron Fist. So take what I say with a grain of salt. I just like my superhero shit.
Cloak & Dagger is pretty decent. The issue I'm having is that Marvel's slow burn format really wears you down when they have twenty goddamn shows with it. Sometimes I feel my anticipation of Agents of SHIELD mostly resides in that it's so much faster paced than the other Marvel shows.

I stayed far away from Inhumans. And even though I did like Season 1 of Iron Fist, it still astounded me that Marvel gave Scott Buck TWO of their shows. I've never seen Dexter, but I do know that Buck was responsible for that show's most reviled seasons, so I'm left to wonder what dirt he had on people in the industry to keep giving him showrunning jobs.
But the slow burn style of these shows honestly doesn't bother me too much. Except for the first batch of episodes in Luke Cage Season 1. Those first three episodes were kind of a slog.

I don't know Scott Buck much outside of his Marvel work myself, though there always seemed to be a sense of dread from people with him touching something. I saw why people disliked Inhumans, but I thought it was featherweight entertainment myself. These characters would have been better off in a feature film format, where you can give them a far grander scale. Turning it into a TV show will always be one of those big studio fuck ups.
I don't mind slow burn, but when it's in every series I start to crave diversity. The Runaways didn't actually run away until the final episode of the first season, while I'm on episode six of Cloak & Dagger and they're still hesitant about each other and getting emo without really...doing anything, honestly.
Of course the alternatives is that you slide them really quickly into their hero role in forty minutes, like a lot of superhero shows do (watch the first episodes of Arrow and Supergirl, boy are they shit). It just feels to me as if there should be an in-between, not do everything immediately or do everything at the end.

I dunno, I like the fact that the CW superhero shows hit the ground running. I'll give you the Supergirl pilot, which I still do not like, but the Arrow, Flash and Black Lightning pilots are all REALLY good. Of course, those shows and these Marvel-Netflix ones are both made for different audiences, but I think each work in their own right when they hit their stride.

I agree 100% on Black Lightning. One of the smartest things they did was not squeeze his origin into the episode and make it a return of a hero story instead. The Flash worked pretty well all things considered. That first episode of Arrow on the other hand had so many bizarre pacing issues that by the end I was laughing at how absurdly condensed it was. Honestly I hold it as a golden standard of how to not make a pilot. Luckily the show evened out after that.
But that's just me.

Lots of people, myself included, would consider the Arrow pilot one of the series' best episodes. But, hey, to each their own.

While I'm certain that crappy Inhumans movie would make excellent MST3K fodder, it would cost too much money to license anytime soon. Maybe in twenty or thirty years. Rifftrax could do it, though.

Oh I know. I was just making a funny. Trust me, following MST on DVD for nearly 20 years has taught me a thing or two about movie rights and who may or may not budge (fuck you, Susan Hart).
Though if I were to realistically anticipate what might come up next season, there are some juicy titles that Shout has licensed from MGM (who were big providers for season 11) for blu-ray. I'd melt a little inside if they put forward 90's Captain America and RoboCop 3 on the show.

I just finished season 2 myself, and this is easily the best show in the Netflix Marvel canon. I was afraid the ending for the series would not live up to all the hype it was building up to, but the ending was perfect. Everything about this show makes it 10x better than all the rest of the Netflix story. The story alone was what got me hooked from season 1. All it had to do was catch up with action and better choreography. Iron Fist season 2 10/10 Defenders season 1 9/10 Daredevil season 1 9/10 Iron Fist season 1 8.5/10 Luke Cage season 1 8.5/10 Daredevil season 2 8/10 Jessica Jones season 1 8/10 Luke Cage season 2 8/10 The Punisher Season 1 7.5/10 Jessica Jones Season 2 7/10

Just finished watching the final two episodes. It's definitely worth the watch. While I still don't think that Joy and Ward's presence was necessary, they weren't nearly as obnoxious as they were in season one. They even managed to contribute to the plot in meaningful ways.
I look forward to seeing more of Alice Eve's character of Mary Walker, aka: Typhoid Mary, aka: Bloody Mary. She made a compelling wild card with lots of potential. Misty Knight and Colleen Wing got to do some proper teaming-up, as they do in the comics.
Danny is certainly the winner of the Most Improved award. I loathed his character in season one. There was nothing likable about him. He actually had a character arch this time, and with the way the final few minutes of the season ended, I can hardly wait for season three.
