Pro-Gun Mother Shot By Her Own Four-Year-Old ‘Could Face Charges
A mother who was shot by her own four-year-old son could face charges over the incident, officials have said.
Jamie Gilt, 31, was at the wheel of her car when her son shot her with a loaded .45 calibre weapon - only a day after she had boosted of her shooting skills.
She reportedly wrote on Facebook: ‘‘Even my 4 year old gets jacked up to target shoot with the .22,’.
But investigators have refused to confirm if the pro-gun Facebook account belonged to Gilt, and have instead concentrated on what happened during the incident.
Police say that Gilt put a loaded .45-caliber handgun underneath the front seat of her pickup on March 8 - which slid into the back seat where her son Lane was sitting in a booster seat.

A shameless dad pleaded with a court not to be jailed as he has fathered 14 children by the age of 26.
Feckless Lee Anderson pleaded for leniency from the Dunfermline Sheriff Court after failing to complete a community service order after being committed for violent offences, but was sent to prison for four months. Anderson, from Cowdenbeath, had been hauled before the court after failing to complete the community service, which involved building work, even though the offences happened almost four years ago.
Anderson’s lawyer said he had a ‘sore back’.
However he produced no medical proof of his ailment and the court sent him to prison for the first time.
After hearing Anderson had no medical proof he had a bad back, the Sheriff told Anderson he had run out of chances.
‘ You have completely failed to comply.’ Among the convictions, which all dated back to when he lived in Orkney in 2012, were assault and causing a disturbance by shouting and swearing.
The Sun reported that Sheriff Craig McSherry was also unimpressed by Anderson’s seedy lifestyle saying: ‘He’s 26 and he claims to have fathered 14 children. I don’t suppose he pays anything to them?’
Anderson’s lawyer Elaine Buist replied: “I think he only sees one of them.”
The court also heard that his name does not appear on any birth certificates.

Darwin Award!! CHESTNUT HILL (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating the death of a woman found inside a Staples store bathroom with nearly a dozen empty cans of an aerosol keyboard cleaner.
Workers found a 36-year-old woman inside the store on the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill.
Police said managers used a crowbar to get into the bathroom after an employee realized that the woman had been locked in there since about 9:40 p.m. Friday.
Medics performed CPR, but she could not be saved.
Police said investigators found 10 empty cans of the keyboard cleaner in the trash and two more cans in the woman's handbag.
Officials said the product, which had been stolen off the shelf, has a warning label saying "inhaling contents can be fatal."
Investigators are now awaiting the results of an autopsy to help determine how she died.
There was no word on the woman's identity or if she was an employee of the business.

Christal McGee a driver trying to attain a high speed on Snapchat is allegedly to blame for a car accident outside of Atlanta, Georgia, that left a victim with "traumatic brain injuries," CNN reported.
There's a Snapchat filter that shows you how fast your phone is moving. The driver, Christal McGee, was driving 107 mph at the time of the collision on September 10, 2015, going over the speed limit "in order to obtain recognition through Snapchat by means of a Snapchat 'trophy'", according to the issued complaint.
According to a statement from the law offices of Michael Lawson Neff, McGee said she was "Just trying to get the car to 100 miles per hour to post it on Snapchat.".
According to the complaint, McGee's Mercedes struck a Mitsubishi being driven by Maynard Wentworth, leaving Wentworth with "permanent brain damage."
Maynard and his wife are suing both McGee and Snapchat for medical bills incurred as a result of the accident, CNN reported. Maynard, an Uber driver at the time of the car accident, now relies on a walker or wheelchair.
And that's not the first stupid accident because of this

I really hate it when they call this an accident!! This is no friggin accident - it's neglect!!! Not only did these adults secure a loaded firearm, but they didn't even bother with child safety seats!! Freakin ASSHATS!
US toddler shoots mother dead AFP
Washington (AFP) - A toddler riding in the back of a car accidentally shot dead his mother with a gun that slid out from under the driver's seat, US police said.
The 26-year-old victim, Patrice Price, was pronounced dead at the scene following Tuesday's incident in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the local sheriff's office said.
The child, aged two and a half and identified by local media as a boy, fired the 40-caliber gun through the driver's seat where his mother was at the wheel.
Local broadcaster WISN quoted the victim's father as saying that she was a mother of three.
"This little girl right here meant everything in the world to me," Andre Price told the station. "And I lost the other half of my heart."
The weapon apparently belonged to the victim's security guard boyfriend, with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel newspaper reporting that she was driving his car because hers had been stolen days earlier.
The sheriff's office said that deputies found a security officer's gun belt belonging to the boyfriend on the floor of the front passenger seat.
The firearm was recovered on the floor behind the driver's seat. An investigation is under way.
Also in the vehicle was another of Price's children, aged one, and the woman's mother. Neither of the children was in a car seat.
Price's mother told relatives that her daughter turned to her after a loud pop rang out and said: "Momma, don't let me die," WISN reported.
Following the shooting, fellow motorists stopped and pushed the car out of traffic before police arrived and performed CPR on Price while awaiting the arrival of emergency medical personnel.
Tuesday's shooting comes on the heels of a similar accident, though not fatal, in Florida last month.
In that instance, a four-year-old boy accidentally shot his mother in the back while she was at the wheel, leaving the passionately pro-gun woman badly wounded.
Jamie Gilt, who had boasted online about her toddler's shooting prowess, was cruising down a major thoroughfare with her son in the back when he shot her on March 8. The bullet went through the seat cushion.
The mother and boy were on their way to pick up a horse, said police, who rushed to Gilt's aid after an officer checked to see why the vehicle had stopped. The weapon was a .45-caliber handgun the boy found on the floor of the pickup truck Gilt was driving. Police said she legally owned the weapon.
According to Everytown for Gun Safety, a group aimed at reducing US gun violence, there have been at least 77 shootings this year during which a child or adolescent aged 17 or under unintentionally fired a gun and killed or injured someone.
Firearms claim the lives of some 30,000 people in the United States each year.

A man has been arrested after he destroyed a 126-year-old statue – after attempting to take a selfie with it. The sculpture, of a 16th-century Portuguese king, reportedly shattered after a man mounted it. The man lifted himself onto the statue’s pedestal, causing it to crumble, and then attempted to flee the scene – but was caught by police. The statue, which outside the Rossio railway station in central Lisbon, is of Dom Sebastiao. He was King of Portugal and the Algarves from June 1557 to August 1578. He disappeared during the battle of Alcácer Quibir in Morocco. His body was never found, but is presumed to have died at the age of 24. Given he was childless, his death led indirectly to the end of the House of Aziz, which ruled the country from 1385–1581. However, his legend lived in on and he became known as ‘The Sleeping King’ – destined to return during Portugal’s darkest hour. Images show the statue smashed into many pieces before its empty frame. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx And another: Here’s a horrible high school mistake to remember forever. A California teenager, who wore a hijab for her yearbook photo, was mortified to see herself incorrectly identified inside as “Isis.” A page from the Los Osos High School yearbook listed the student as an 11th grader named “Isis Phillips.” The student’s actual name is Bayan Zehlif — meaning the yearbook not only equated her with the world’s most feared terror group, but didn’t even get her surname right. “I am extremely saddened, disgusted, hurt and embarrassed that the Los Osos High School yearbook was able to get away with this,” Zehlif, who says on social media she is Palestinian, wrote on Facebook Saturday. “Apparently I am ‘Isis’ in the yearbook. The school reached out to me and had the audacity to say that this was a typo. I beg to differ, let’s be real.” A student at the Rancho Cucamonga high school who worked on the yearbook insisted the identity crisis was an honest mistake, saying the school did indeed have a student named Isis Phillips, who transferred earlier this year. "We have a campus of 3200 students. Their are going to be imperfections (sic)," the student, Trevor Santellan, told the Daily News in a Twitter message.

Vandals’ Drunken Binge In Death Valley May Have Killed Endangered Fish
AMARGOSA VALLEY, Nev. (CBS/AP) — Authorities on Monday were searching for three men who went on a drunken binge in an environmentally fragile area of Death Valley National Park, leaving behind beer cans, shotgun shells, vomit, underwear — and possibly killing one of the rarest fishes on earth.
The men climbed a fence guarding Devils Hole, a detached area of the park located in southwestern Nevada, around 7:30 p.m. on April 30, according to the National Park Service.
They fired at least 10 rounds from a shotgun, shooting the locks off of two gates and hitting a motion sensor and several signs. They also left beer cans and vomit, and one man waded into Devils Hole, leaving his boxer shorts in the water, the Park Service said.
Devils Hole is a cavern pool fed by a hot spring and is the only natural home of the tiny Devils Hole pupfish. The iridescent blue fish is considered critically endangered. Only around 115 currently live in Devils Hole, which is more than 500 feet deep in parts but less than 2 feet deep where the fish feed.
The pupfish was at the center of a 1976 ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court that barred groundwater pumping for agricultural use near the site because of its impact on Devils Hole.
On Monday, one of the pupfish was found dead, the Park Service said. It will be examined to determine whether the actions of the men killed it.
Video recorded the men climbing a fence and driving away in what appeared to be a modified blue Yamaha Rhino off-road vehicle. The Park Service is offering a $5,000 reward leading to the men’s arrest and conviction. The Center for Biological Diversity is adding another $10,000 to the pot.
“Devils Hole pupfish have been teetering on the brink of extinction for years. The last thing they need are these idiots running amok in the last place on Earth where they still survive,” said Ileene Anderson, a senior scientist with the conservation group.

This Pot Valued at $50,000 by Antiques Roadshow Was Really a High School Art Project
It's the American dream for any PBS enthusiast to take an old family trinket, or something he/she picked up at a garage sale, to Antiques Roadshow and find out it's worth a small fortune. Everyone between the ages of 60-90 wants to be like that guy who found out his old blanket was worth $350,000. This story is pretty much the exact opposite of that. Last summer, Alvin Barr brought an objectively ugly old ceramic jug to be appraised during a Washington taping of Antiques Roadshow. There, appraiser Stephen L. Fletcher told Barr that "the potter has used an impressive array of techniques to come up with this extraordinary texture. This, in its own way, is really over the top. It's bizarre and wonderful. You even see a little bit of, like, Pablo Picasso going on here. It's a little difficult to identify precisely when this was made, but I think it's probably late 19th or early 20th century." This ceramic jug, which Barr picked up at an estate sale in Eugene, Oregon, was worth between $30,000 and $50,000 according to Fletcher. "What!? No!" Barr said on the show, shocked that something he'd picked up for $300 could be worth that much. "I think it's just ... It's amazing, just an amazing thing," Fletcher said. "And I've been doing this for 20 years." It's the stuff Antiques Roadshow fans live for. It's like a Wheel of Fortune solve with one letter uncovered, or a double showcase showdown win on The Price is Right. But, as it turns out, this pot was actually made by an Oregon high school student in the mid '70s.

George Zimmerman, the man who was acquitted in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in 2013, is selling his gun.
The 9mm pistol that Zimmerman, 32, said was used to shoot and kill Trayvon Martin on February 26, 2012 is up for sale Thursday on gunbroker.com.
"The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin," Zimmerman wrote on the auction site. "Many have expressed interest in owning and displaying the firearm including The Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. This is a piece of American History," said Zimmerman.

Tourists kidnap baby bison and put it in their car because it looked coldBrian Koerber 3 hours ago Animals, they’re not just like us. A father and son arrived at Lamar Buffalo Ranch in Wyoming on Monday, with a bison calf in the back of their SUV. They believed that the bison was cold and in danger, so they decided to kidnap the animal and bring it to a park ranger. Karen Richardson was chaperoning a fifth grade field trip at the park when the incident occurred. “They were demanding to speak with a ranger,” Richardson told East Idaho News. “They were seriously worried that the calf was freezing and dying.” Law enforcement were called to the scene and the father and the family received a ticket for their actions. East Idaho News reports that they were visiting the U.S. from another country. Park rangers then followed the father and son to where they took the bison, and it was released back into the wild. Richardson was able to snap a photo of the event, and later posted it to Facebook with the caption, "Dear Tourists: the bison calf is not cold and is not lost. PUT IT BACK!" On its website, the National Parks Service warns of the dangers of large wildlife, and states that visitors must stay at least 25 yards away from bison.

I hope those asshats in the above story are proud of themselves. They are the cause of this development...
Baby Bison Euthanized After Yellowstone Tourists Loaded It Into Truck Time Mathew Katz 2 hours 8 minutes ago Yellowstone National Park officials were forced to euthanize a baby bison after a pair of tourists loaded it into the trunk of their truck over fears it was too cold.
The newborn calf was rejected by its mother after the May 9 incident, because of “interference by people,” the park said in a statement Monday.
“Park rangers tried repeatedly to reunite the newborn bison calf with the herd. These efforts failed,” officials said. “The bison calf was later euthanized because it was abandoned and causing a dangerous situation by continually approaching people and cars along the roadway.”
Despite a relatively moderate low of 39 degrees Fahrenheit, the father and son decided the baby bison looked cold, hauled it into their Toyota Sequoia, and drove it to a nearby ranger station, according to the Washington Post. The pair demanded the rangers help the animal, according to the East Idaho News.
Park officials said the two were cited for the incident, but did not provide details about the penalty.

Another Darwin Award
Yellowstone rangers look for man presumed dead in hot spring Associated Press 3 hours ago YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — Park rangers navigated a dangerous landscape where boiling water flows beneath a fragile rock crust, searching Wednesday for a man who reportedly walked off a boardwalk and fell into a hot spring at Yellowstone National Park.
The man was presumed dead after a witness reported that a man in his early 20s had traveled 225 yards off the pathway Tuesday before falling into one of one of the hottest and most volatile areas in Yellowstone. The witness is considered credible, authorities said.
The circumstances of the man's fall were not yet known, but it follows several high-profile incidents at the rugged park, where tourists went off designated pathways onto unique landmarks, sometimes leading to injuries, or got too close to wildlife.
The safety of park personnel was a top concern during the search in Norris Geyser Basin, officials said. It is a popular attraction in the nation's first national park, which received a record 4.1 million visitors last year. Water temperatures there can reach 199 degrees, the boiling point for water at the park's high elevation.
Posted signs warn visitors to keep to boardwalks and trails in thermal areas, which feature boiling pools, geysers that can blast hundreds of feet into the air and toxic gases.
The crust that makes up the ground in parts of Yellowstone is formed when minerals underground are dissolved by the high-temperature water, then redeposited on or near the surface.
"It's very fragile rock and can be thin as a skiff of ice," park spokeswoman Charissa Reid said.
The Norris basin area was closed pending the search.
Other recent tourist incidents at Yellowstone include a 13-year-old boy who got burned days ago when his father, who had been carrying him, slipped into a different hot spring.
In May, a Canadian film crew was accused of leaving an established boardwalk and stepping into a geothermal area where they snapped photos and took video of themselves.

Another garbage spewing asshat.
Pastor Roger Jimenez of the Verity Baptist Church is seen a YouTube video of his recent sermon calling the clubgoers who were killed at the Pulse nightclub "pedophiles."
"Are you sad that 50 pedophiles were killed today?" he asked his Sacramento congregation in the sermon. "Um – no – I think that's great! I think that helps society. I think Orlando, Florida, is a little safer tonight."
"We don't need to do anything to help. As far as I'm concerned, Orlando is a little bit safer tonight," he said.
Jimenez also suggested that, if our society followed God's will, we should shoot all of America's homosexuals.
"If we lived in a righteous government, they should round them all up and put them up against a firing wall, and blow their brains out," Jimenez said.

What the hell is wrong with people!
Police search home of man accused of receiving girl as gift Associated Press 1 hour 27 minutes ago
FEASTERVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities have been searching the home of a Pennsylvania man accused of sexually assaulting a teenager whose parents police say gave her to him when she was 14 because he helped them financially. She was one of a dozen girls living in the residence.
Officials in Bucks County acting on a tip Thursday found 51-year-old Lee Kaplan at his Feasterville home, along with 12 girls ranging in age from six months to 18 years. One girl, now 18, told police that she and Kaplan have a 3-year-old and a six-month-old. Kaplan faces charges including statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and aggravated indecent assault.
On Saturday, police and dogs scoured the home's backyard for evidence. Lt. Ted Krimmel of the Lower Southampton police department said authorities waited until dawn so they would be able to search the property in daylight.
"We have a search warrant for the entire property," he said. "There are dogs searching for evidence."
District Attorney David Heckler said the parents of the girl Kaplan is accused of assaulting told police they were going to lose their farm until Kaplan "came out of the blue and saved them from financial ruin."
Neighbor Jen Betz of Feasterville said she called the authorities because she was concerned about the girls she saw outside the home, which she said had boarded windows and high weeds.
"They're so sad and fearful every time I see them. That's what made me call," she said. "I've been telling my husband for years 'Something isn't right, something isn't right.'"
Krimmel said officials are trying to verify who the parents of the other children found at the home are. The teenager's parents told police the other nine girls in the house were their children, but no birth certificates or Social Security cards could be located to confirm that, he said.
When police entered the home Thursday, "all the children were running around," Krimmel said. "Some were hiding. They were well-behaved, but scared."
Authorities allege in an affidavit that the girl's father, Daniel Stoltzfus, told an officer he gave his 14-year-old daughter to Kaplan after researching the legality of such an action online. Stoltzfus is charged with conspiracy of statutory sexual assault and children endangerment. His wife, Savilla Stoltzfus, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
All three were being held in lieu of $1 million bail. Court documents don't list attorneys who could respond to the charges.
WPVI--TV reported that the Stoltzfuses 19-year-old son, John, told the station at the house Friday night that his folks are "good parents."
Heckler said the children apparently did not attend school and it was unclear if they had ever been to a doctor, but they didn't appear to be in bad health and showed no visible signs of trauma.
Another neighbor, Bob Greenfield, said Kaplan seemed "weird" and he now wishes that he also had called authorities.
"You knew something was wrong," he said. "It makes you feel bad. If I had said something a while ago, they would have come earlier."
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the Stoltzfuses were born into the Amish faith, but renounced it amid a long fight with community elders, according to a federal lawsuit they filed in 2009 against their former church.
