I don't know if that's an asshat candidate. It's just that time of year. Every year you get multiple stories like this.

The father, Michael Thedford, told police he had returned home with the child in the back seat of the family's 2016 Honda Odyssey around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning after dropping off his other two children, ages 5 and 3, at day care, according to a probable cause affidavit. Thedford had forgotten about the baby and went inside to sleep, he told police. Thedford, 33, awoke about four hours later, around 1 p.m., and realized he had left the child in the car and found her unresponsive when he removed her from the car seat, court documents stated. He then brought the 6-month-old into the house and placed her into the refrigerator for an undisclosed amount of time before calling 911, according to the affidavit. While tragic, this kind of thing actually happens all the time. At some point, most parents/grandparents do something incredibly thoughtless like this. Most of the time, things turn out fine in the end. On rare occasions, they result in tragedies like this. We're not talking about some horrible parent who intentionally left their child in the car because they didn't want to deal with bringing the baby into the mall. This was an accident.

OK withdrawn you're right
I think the part about putting the body in the fridge before giving the baby CPR struck me as odd, but I can see that he must have been going out of his mind with panic and anxiety.

This isn't the first time these idiots have burned people with this dangerous stunt
ERICA HUNZINGER and DAVID WARREN 18 hours ago DALLAS (AP) — More than 30 people who attended an event with motivational speaker Tony Robbins have been treated for burns after Robbins encouraged them to walk on hot coals as a way of conquering their fears, Dallas fire officials said.
Five people were taken to a hospital Thursday night, while the rest were treated at the scene for burns to their feet and lower extremities, Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said.
The hot coals were spread outside the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center as part of a four-day Robbins seminar called "Unleash the Power Within." It's a regular part of some of Robbins' seminars; more than 20 people were treated for foot burns after an event in 2012 in San Jose, California.
Paul Gold of West Palm Beach, Florida, suffered second-degree burns on both feet that will take about two weeks to heal, he told The Associated Press on Friday from a burn unit. It was the second time he's walked on hot coals; the first he described as a "very good experience" at a Robbins seminar a few months ago in Florida.
He said the difference Thursday was that it appeared staff members didn't allow the coals to cool enough before adding more to the pile, which was about 3 to 4 feet wide and about 20 feet long. He realized halfway through his walk over the coals that he'd suffered burns.
"In hindsight, jumping off would have been a fantastic idea," he said. "But when you're in the spirit of the moment, you're kinda focused on one task."
After his walk, Gold, 44, said it felt like someone had "taken a hot iron and pressed it against my feet." He also said he saw a girl who was crying and others complaining of burns; his fiancee had minor burns.
"I'm not even sure I could do it again, because now I have this massive fear of fire," he said, adding later that he still believes Robbins helps a lot of people and that it was staff members who "weren't following directions properly."
In a statement to the AP, representatives for Robbins said about 7,000 people walked across the coals and only five "requested any examination beyond what was readily available on site."
"Someone not familiar with the fire walk observed the event and called 911 erroneously reporting hundreds of people requiring medical attention for severe burns," according to the statement.
One participant, Jacqueline Luxemberg, told WFAA that some people were not concentrating on walking across the coals because they were taking selfies and asking others to take video of them.
Evans, with Dallas Fire-Rescue, said organizers had the necessary permits for the burning coals

A San Francisco man is fighting to stay in his apartment, after his landlord suddenly hiked his rent from $1,800 a month to $8,000.
The landlord has given no reason for the sudden hike, the tenant has been there for years and has always paid on time. He is now facing eviction before his case gets heard before the renter's board. His lawyer is seeking a delay for eviction.
The apartment was in the movie The Dead Pool.

I don't think I need to add anything more about this one, it pretty much speaks for itself.

Yes, yes indeed. A Scottish woman has been crowned Miss Hitler 2016 in a sick beauty pageant organised by neo-Nazi youth movement National Action. The sick competition saw a woman with the disturbing pseudonym 'A-Bus-Full-Of-Retards' named the winner, after attracting entries from across the UK.

Mom used 6-month-old baby to beat boyfriend, police say
Tatyana Allen is accused of using her infant son to beat her boyfriend, according to police. (Volusia County Sheriff's Office)
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WHP) A Florida mother is behind bars after at least 20 people reported seeing her use her infant son to beat her boyfriend at a Daytona Beach boardwalk on Independence Day, according to CBS-affiliate WKMG.
Tatyana Allen was charged with battery and inflicting physical/mental abuse on a child in connection to the incident.
In a call to 9-1-1, a witness explained to dispatchers " [Allen] took the baby by his body and hit the baby against the man and then threw the baby down."
The caller said the baby was face down in the sand, unable to hold its head up by itself because "that's how little it was."
But the witness was not the only person to call 9-1-1 at that time. Allen made a call of her own, telling dispatchers she was the person being assaulted.
"I'm with my baby daddy and he had pushed me and hitting on me and I need you to come pick him up," she told 9-1-1, according to WKMG.
She is being held on $30,000 bond for the incident.
Her son is expected to be okay. No word on who is caring for the child.

Well I think it's time to cull the population of idiot tourists.
Alaskan Mountain Goat Dies Fleeing People Who Wanted to Take Its Picture Time Mahita Gajanan 4 hours ago A mountain goat in Alaska jumped into the ocean and drowned while trying to escape crowds trying to take its picture.
The goat was spotted walking along the harbor in the city of Seward, a fishing hub that does not normally see wild mountain goats. The animals are more acclimated to steeper, less populated areas.
Alaska State Troopers received a report around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday that people were harassing the goat on the south end of the harbor. About a half hour later, they found out the goat had jumped into the ocean. Unable to climb back onto land because people were standing on the rocks, the goat drowned.
“Investigation revealed a large amount of people followed the goat towards the SeaLife Center on the rocks resulting in the goat jumping back in to the water,” the troopers said in a news dispatch. “It is imperative that wildlife is given adequate space to be able to leave a congested area like downtown Seward.”
The goat’s death comes amid several incidents of people interfering with wild animals. A dolphin in Argentina died earlier this year after beachgoers took it out of the water to take a selfie. In May, Yellowstone National Park officials euthanized a baby bison after tourists loaded it into their truck over fears it was too cold.

Good job, Florida! The classic "the bullet that struck man laying down on the ground was actually meant for the autistic guy playing with a toy truck" defense.

Good job, Florida! The classic "the bullet that struck man laying down on the ground was actually meant for the autistic guy playing with a toy truck" defense. Yeah, "we didn't have the same view as the people with the phone cams, so it looked like a gun that the guy was reloading" I think the real reason came out first, "Officer, why did you shoot me?" "I don't know." Why did the officer take a shot if there was a chance he could hit the wrong target? The officer claims he take the shot to protect the black man from being shot by the man with a toy truck. So, why did they cuff the black man, and let him bleed until the ambulance arrived? They have an obligation to assess the situation accurately Before they escalate things to the level of deadly force. If they weren't close enough to tell he had a toy truck instead of a gun, and if they were not close enough to hear the caregiver tell them that he was an autistic patient, and all he had was a toy truck - they definitely were not in any position to make a deadly force call.

UPDATE
North Miami Police Officer Jonathon Aledda was identified today as the officer involved in the shooting of an unarmed man earlier this week.
City officials said Aledda is a member of the department's SWAT team. He was placed on paid administrative leave.
Jeff Cazeau, North Miami City Attorney, said the release of the officer's name was delayed due to safety concerns, but added that he is safe now.
Another officer who was at the scene, but did not shoot, was Commander Emile Holland. Holland was put on administrative leave without pay, officials said, noting there was evidence that Holland tried to fabricate the police report.

A woman from Gary, Ind., says she was discriminated against and kicked out of a Family Dollar store for wearing a niqab and hijab.
The clerk told her to remove her headdress because this is a high crime area. The woman, who wasn't even 4 steps into the store, told the clerk this is a religious garment and I never go out without it. She was obviously shaken and in tears when the clerk told her to leave, even though she's been in the store several times before and never caused trouble.
