Terminator Salvation also applies to this rule. It made decent money, but it doesn't qualify as success either. And we saw that franchise get rebooted.

"A Good Day to Die Hard" was a tremendous piece of shit, one of the worst films of the decade, I couldn't believe how awful every second of it was. I think the Shyamalan Law is a great way to go, the guy is still attempting to make excuses for the Airbender movie. What a moron. I absolutely agree. This movie is one of the main reasons I check Rotten Tomatoes before I go to see something. It's amazing how awful a movie can be and still make as much money as they do.

Die Hard 5 only made $67 million domestically, which is a flop. The rest was internationally where audiences are more apologetic towards Hollywood movies.

Yeah, I honestly couldn't believe it had a 15% on RT, I thought "oh please, at it's worst it can't be any worse than typical action movie-fare" and wow was I wrong. What an awful, awful film. I'm glad it flopped, it showed that even action movie fans aren't going to flock to anything thrown at them.

Which is still way to much domestically for that movie....

Hold it big shot, is your law of diminishing returns post suggesting 2 is better than 3?

Nope. That's why I put question marks after each of my suggestions. It was a half-conceived idea.

Live Free or Die Hard was ahead of its time. When Kevin Smith finally wins an Oscar for acting you'll know I was right.

Not sure if this was posted but... kinda (alluded to) spoilers: screenrant.com/jurassic-world-original-t-rex-returning/?_r=trueI'm guessing the old T Rex comes to save the day at some point in either a sacrifice role or this time maybe saves the Raptors that are attacking the new guy, in contrast to the first one. Or they just kill her off early on to show the new guy means business.

“It’s a movie, a fictional movie. The last thing it needs to be is scientifically grounded,” he said.

It would be cool if they took the look of a Velociraptor and made it more realistic. But I guess something bigger than a dog isn't as intimidating as them being about the same size (height) as us.
