This movie has way too many problems with it despite the entertainment for it to touch the originals for me. Return of the Jedi has flaws, but the scenes with Luke, Vader, and Palpatine alone are better than anything we got in this one.
The Empire Strikes Back
A New Hope
Return of the Jedi
The Force Awakens
Revenge of the Sith
The Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones
Episodes I and II are basically neck and neck, I hate them for different reasons but ultimately Phantom Menace has some scenes I like and doesn't go nearly as overboard as Attack of the Clones with the over reliance on CGI and green screen sets. Plus I've seen it twice and honestly can't tell you why things in it are even happening.

The fact that Episode I was shot on 35mm instead of 2002/2005 caliber digital video goes a long long way towards endearing itself to me more than the other two prequels.

Yeah, I'm with you there. It definitely is a better looking movie than Attack of the Clones which looks really embarrassing already. The Two Towers came out the same year and the CGI in it looks drastically better. Compare the work done on Gollum to Yoda and it's no contest.

Ok Kids it looks like Im gonna have to give you the proper star wars order which will likely surpise some. I have fallowed this here topic for all my life since I was born in 1978. I am as old as the whole saga so think can weigh in properly. Lets first comment on one fact. The Prequel get way too much hate and are more watchable then 50 % of todays so called great summer comic book movies or dare i say micheal bay films.
Anywho here we go kids enjoy it or hate it. I wont lose sleep cause my verison is the definative version.

Not being cruel but how in the world do you have revenge of the sith ahead of not just Force Awakens, Or ROTJ but ahead of the Original Star Wars  ? It's not ahead of the original star wars? I hated the ewoks plain in simple for me to not like "Return of the Jedi" also Revenge of the Sith is a really great film. It has so many parallels to the SW Universe. |

My problem is the prequels are not as horrible as everyone is complaining about. There is alot of people who feel that this movie is no better then Phantom Menace since many see it as a copy of A New Hope.

Nobody thinks this movie is on par with Phantom Menace. If you took the ambition of The Phantom Menace and combine it with the... better judgement... of The Force awakens you would have a perfect movie. |
