Consensus be damned, I watched it two days ago when my trip to California got postponed a day.
I now know why the trailer to that movie is a blank music video. The movie itself is a bland and lifeless disaster which Blake Lively is desperately trying to save but only reflexes a sign of life when Jude Law goes full Clive Owen.
There are also scenes in which two scenes are inter-edited together in awkward ways. Brought to mind that great Tom Servo line "Just because you can edit doesn't mean you should."

If WB marketed more of the spectacular action scenes and made it look less like a Margot Robbie vanity project, it might have done better. The hype for this movie was almost non-existent.
Too bad any actual Birds of Prey movie that might have spun off from this thing might not happen.

They also had a seamingly endless embargo on reviews, as if they thought the reviews would be horrid and were trying to keep a lid on them. Was shocked when it came in with an 80% RT score.

That graph pretty much says it all. You can only screw up a franchise so many times before it comes to the point where it doesn't even matter if you make a good movie anymore. Somebody already went viral on twitter with that dumb observation and was swiftly ridiculed for not understanding the difference in box office expectations between a comic book movie sequel vs a biopic, and the huge gulf in marketing costs.
