Something more subtle like Secret Window. The director of Secret Window is the director of Mortdecai. It's the only thing that gives me hope for this movie. David Keopp gets lots of criticism but he is the screenwriter of Jurassic Park, Mission Impossible and Spider-Man. There is some talent there. And that bicycle movie he did with Joseph Gordon-Levitt was not bad. I'm also rooted for Depp to make a comeback. Warner Bros is gonna release Black Mass in September. That's prime Oscar-bait real estate. I think that's a good sign. It's a bit early, and it could get lost in the award season shuffle, but it could be another Argo. Go to Netflix and watch the Whitey Bulger documentary. It's good stuff.

Mortdecai is at 13% on RT right now. That's lower than Boy Next Door. Yeesh.

I don't even finish movies anymore if I don't like it (then again I don't go to the theaters much anymore). There's no justification for wasting my time.

I'm kinda crazy in that I watch a movie from start to finish. I don't feel like I can accurately score or critique a film if I didn't see it all. I had to sit through "Battlefield Earth" the whole way to make sure it earned it's 1/10 and didn't sneak in some spectacular, climactic moment to bump it up to a 2. Sure, I'm on my phone during a lot of the movie, but I'm not missing anything.

If I go though he trouble of starting a movie I'm usually going to finish it, but there have been exceptions.

There have been movies where I've been tempted to not finish, Dinner for Schmucks for example, but no matter how bad a movie may be, it's my responsibility to see it through and still give it a fair chance.

I sat through "Meet the Spartans" at a friend's house once. I told myself if I could make it through this, I can make it through anything in life.

I turned off Jersey Boys a few weeks ago. I didn't deem it worthy another hour of my time.
