Uh-oh! What's happening now? What's next? Will Harrison Ford to play Star Wars 8 & 9?

Ugh. I had forgotten about this. Yes, you're right about that. He will play for Star Wars 8 & 9. And also, what about Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill? Is this possible that they will able play for Star Wars 8 & 9?

People just call it 70mm in most articles (which is probably less confusing). The film itself is 65mm, while the audio strips make it 70mm in projection. IE, it's the IMAX format, more or less. Really big and clear film. Nolan used a combination of 65mm and IMAX for Interstellar.

Tarantino used it for Hateful Eight.

I'm guessing that answers if she will survive episode 8.

The odds that there will be zero CGI involved is highly unlikely. I suspect there's going to be a great deal of taking unused footage of Leia from one scene and inserting it into another. If whatever she's wearing doesn't match up to what the scene calls for, CGI will be used. When they say they're not going to use CGI to replace Carrie Fisher, I think what they really mean is that they won't use motion capture to create an CGI version of Leia. They're almost certainly going to be using an impersonator to handle the dialogue.

I vote for lots of Manos-style shots of her walking away from the camera, or talking into her elbow, or suffering a horrific offscreen accident that forces her to use a mask that only covers the bottom half of her face.

I hope that they realize that if its not working they need to abandon the whole idea.

Its quite amazing they can give you a very good Tarkin but not Leia if needed. In my humble opinion bes solution is the base or planet s destroyed by some new first order weapon at the begining of episode 9. Starting the movie very dark and sad would be great to have it end with the jedi to return when evil seems to have won at the beginning of the movie.

The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm announced today two major upcoming release dates.
Star Wars: Episode IX is now set for release on May 24, 2019. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the film will close out the third Star Wars trilogy.
In addition, the fifth chapter of the Indiana Jones series is now confirmed for a July 10, 2020 release. Both Steven Spielberg, director of every Indiana Jones film, and star Harrison Ford will return.

Hopefully this Indiana Jones will take the stink off of the last one.
