I saw this live last year in downtown LA. It was fantastic and should certainly be worth a watch. Danny Elfman and Catherine O'Hara made surprise appearances and sang a few songs from Nightmare Before Christmas.

I went to this very concert on Tuesday night; it was awesome. No special appearances by anyone special, but it was still a great experience and proved just how integral Elfman's music is in Burton's films.
Here's the program/list of films used:
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Pee Wee's Big Adventure Beetlejuice Sleepy Hollow Mars Attacks Big Fish Batman/Batman Returns
Intermission
Planet of the Apes Corpse Bride Dark Shadows Frankenweenie The Nightmare Before Christmas Edward Scissorhands Alice In Wonderland
While each piece played, they had screens showing both clips from the films and concept art for each drawn by Burton himself. I loved it.

With Dumbo on the way, a/k/a the great Burton-Keaton reunion, I finally dusted off my Shout Factory DVD of the Beetlejuice cartoon. It’s another childhood favorite that... doesn’t quite hold up in adulthood. The most surprising thing is how close Beetlejuice (the character) is to his movie counterpart. My recollection of Cartoon Beetlejuice was him being more of a prankster than an exorcist of the living, but Cartoon Beetlejuice is a fucking douchebag. Every episode leaves me saying, “goddamn.” Every episode obviously has to end with Beetlejuice learning a lesson but he goes back to his shenanigans in the next episode. He’s as bad (or worse) than Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin or Archer. lol.

Did you watch the Grimdiana Bones episode? I’ve only watched the first 6 episodes (disc 1 of the set). Grindiana Jones, according to Google, is episode 40. I’ve got a loooong way to go
