Okay, I got one. Sometime in the 80's, HBO used to play a live action kid's film about a brother and sister who ran away from home and end up living in a museum. They blend in with museum visitors during the day and survive by taking the change from the wishing fountain to get food from the vending machines. I forget why they ran away, or what eventually happens to them, I just remember watching that movie whenever it was on with my sister. It aired probably sometime between 1980 - 1984, constantly on HBO during the after school hours or weekend mornings. I think about this movie a few times a year. I doubt any of you will know this one, but hoping you do.

So I just finished Angel Has Fallen on Netflix. Dumb movie but I was doing Netflix Party with some friends. In the middle of the movie Gerard Butler is on the run and tracks down his dad (Nick Nolte) who's a hermit hiding in a cabin in the middle of the woods. The bad guys attack but Nick Nolte has bombs placed everywhere, they take out the bad guys and escape.
While watching it I thought 'wait I've seen this exact same thing before.' There was a movie or show where the main character tracks down an old combat buddy who's living in an isolated cabin to ask for his help, I'm pretty sure the cabin guy had a bow and arrow. Eventually the bad guys come and they have to fight them, I think cabin man is killed. I've been wracking my brain thinking of action/spy/military movies that it could be, I'm pretty sure it's not 24, pretty sure it's not The Americans, almost positive it isn't from a Bourne movie unless it's Bourne Legacy which I don't remember too well.
Here's the scene in case it helps jog anyones memories.

The Bourne Legacy does have a similar scene in it. Renner does go to an isolated cabin for help from someone who's also part of the same paramilitary program, and the guy gets blown up for his troubles. That said however, I don't think it's the movie you're thinking of. This does sound very familiar to me, particularly the archery. I'll give it some thought.

I just watched The Hunted earlier this week. There was no cabin attack sequence in it. And that kind of a scene sounds way more action-y than anything that was ever on The Americans. Like Drac, Shooter does come to mind, but I'm not 100% certain that's it.

Honestly first up came up with Rambo:Last Blood where he basically bobbytraps every aspect of his home farm. Funny, but also true, made me think of Home Alone too.

Not so much a question that needs solving but I suddenly had a flash go through my deep memory bank. Back in the early 90s I would watch anything that was on Nickelodeon or Disney Channel. I didn't care what it was, watching whatever was on was preferable to any chore my parents had for me. One movie I remember watching on Disney though was this weird ass Felix the Cat movie about traveling to other dimensions, killer robots, some old prospector guy and a hot blonde princess. It was one of those movies I watched when it was on even though I never liked it all that much, something I've coined The Neverending Story Effect. When people growing up back in the day had few options they just settled for whatever they had, quality or enjoyment be damned. Anyways, even as a kid I thought the Felix the Cat movie was totally bonkers and apparently it was some production from Hungary or something. Does anyone else remember this?
I just found a trailer and it has Only A Lad playing over it. Whatever.

Next movie: kid spends entire movie trying to avoid a fight at high school, bully tries to kill him with fire at in school, stabs himself in the overhead backswing. May or may not have involved kids turning into zombies/vampires/ghouls. Ahem

Mystery solved 4 1/2 years later.

It's the Punisher tv show My first reaction was, “Punisher TV show?”, but then I remembered those Netflix shows that no longer matter.
