Yeah, even I liked For Your Eyes Only. Not nearly as much as others, but still. Though I totally get Ian's complaint about monotony setting in.

It's the second best Moore film after The Spy Who Loved Me. The rest range from crap to mediocre.

IanTheCool and you are casually watching these movies - which is kind of disappointing. There's hundreds of observations that could be made for each Bond movie. The series isn't as repetitive as you and Dracula claim. Each movie - good or bad - has things that make it stand apart.

It gets worse, before they fired them and brought on U2/Tina Turner there was supposed to be a completely different song for that movie by Ace of Base. No Joke. Would have been the funniest choice since A-Ha did The Living Daylights. The song was later re-written and released as "The Juvenile":

DraculaLet's not forget Surrender by K.D. Lang for Tomorrow Never Dies. At least that one got in the end credits. Or Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang for Thunderdome Or that song by The Pretenders for The Living Daylights, I think that one ended up in the end credits too.

Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) wants to direct a James Bond movie. He needs to stay focused on Blade Runner 2 first. He and Deakins are gonna knock it out of the park.

These Daniel Craig movies take a long time to make. There was a 4 year gap between Quantum and Skyfall, and a 3 year gap between Skyfall and Spectre. So it's possible he can make James Bond after Blade Runner 2.

Yeah, though Blade Runner 2 likely won't begin shooting until next year at the earliest. So if he was to direct the next Bond we could be looking at something close to 5 years down the line, and by then Craig might not even be Bond anymore. He and Deakins work great together, so those two making a Bond film could be spectacular.

Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) wants to direct a James Bond movie. That might be a good gig for him, he's a good craftsman but he's a little too... stupid... to pull off the whole indie prestige thing. He keeps getting his hands on these misguided scripts filled with melodramatic flourishes and has no idea how to reign them in.

A VIEW TO A KILL (1985)
When it comes to my opinions on each of these James Bond movies, I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but that also seems to be par for the course with the franchise in and of itself, so it only seems fitting in a way. Seriously, I'm running out of things to say with each movie I watch because I keep having mostly the same experience with them, and honestly, I'm getting pretty bored with this franchise. But on the bright side, Roger Moore's run finally comes to an end with this film, and while I've enjoyed him in the role for the most part, I'm glad the series can finally usher in some new blood.
A View to a Kill is pretty much the norm for a Bond film, and just as stale as you'd expect. Even with someone like Christopher Walken playing the villain, this movie just struggles to stay interesting. To its credit, though, I actually found the first half, where Bond is sneaking around Walken's character's estate decent enough, mainly because it keeps things simple and straightforward during that stretch, but once it gets to the stuff that's typical of the franchise, my interest steadily dropped. This has been said by many, but it really does bear repeating: Roger Moore's age at the time of this film is definitely noticeable and as a result, really distracting during the action scenes and especially the scenes where Bond seduces women. And maybe because of that, the feeling of "been-there, done-that" is especially strong in this movie.
Actually, I HAD already seen A View to a Kill ten years ago, but my memory was too hazy to recall what I thought back then. Not that it really matters, anyway.

I'm running out of things to say 1. You didn't mention The Beach Boys in the pre-credit scene. Jibbs LOVES that scene. 2. You didn't mention Duran Duran. Dracula LOVES their song for this movie. 3. You didn't mention Grace Jones. Doomsday masturbates every time she's on screen. 4. You didn't mention the awesome action scene with the car breaking into pieces. PG Cooper loves that scene. 5. You didn't mention the ending on top of the Golden State Bridge. SnoBorderZero LOVES that scene. And most importantly, you didn't mention John Barry's badass score:

John Barry's score and Christopher Walken are great. Rest of the movie sucks. Oh, the tire scene is kind of neat.
