George Miller knows he’s allowed to make another Mad Max movie right?

lol. This looks like total schlock. If you had told me that Robert Rodriguez and Doomsday had co-directed this, I would have believed you. I'll be there opening day.

I would have been fine if they just made another Mad Max movie.

I'm still interested. I'll see it. And I honestly thought the trailer was good.
But there's no chance in hell both this movie and the new Planet of the Apes open on the same day. One of them's gotta move.

there's no chance in hell both this movie and the new Planet of the Apes open on the same day. One of them's gotta move. Don’t forget Garfield!! Looking over the May schedule, expect two of the three to move. This is my prediction: Fall Guy — May 3rd Furiosa — May 10th Garfield — May 17th Apes — May 24th That is, of course, if everyone is okay with Fall Guy kicking off the summer season. Does Ryan Gosling have that much goodwill from Barbie? The new marketing material for Fall Guy says Coming Soon on it. I don’t think they’ve committed to May 3rd. I think they’re waiting to see what happens with Furiosa. That seems like the more appropriate movie to open the summer. Fall Guy and Furiosa should swap dates. But I don’t know if that schlocky trailer for Furiosa hyped up anyone. So I think my prediction will pan out to be the one. Start out with the safe romantic-action-comedy. Release the schlocky Furiosa the week after. If it’s a hit, awesome. If it disappoints, can just say that Fall Guy was too much of a crowd-pleaser to compete with. Garfield, well, need a kids movie in there somewhere. Then the respectable Apes movie for the holiday weekend.

Or they could lean into it... Furi-ape-a? Kingdomiosa? Lets find the right portmanteau and get that trending and make Barbenheimer happen again!

Since Garfield opens the same day as well, Garfiosa or Garfiled of the Planet of the Apes would make more sense.

If Paw Patrol and Saw couldn’t make it happen, don’t expect these films to pull it off. Barbenheimer was lightening in a bottle.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a truly cowardly title. It took Ian till January 5, 2024 to realize this movie existed.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a truly cowardly title. Is it better or worse than Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F?
