I enjoyed the episode. While I do still like Kevin Smith despite how fashionable it is around here to hate on him, I checked this out strictly because of Batman. Sitcoms aren't affected in any significant way by whoever is directing a particular episode. There would be very little difference between what The Goldberg's got from Kevin and how the same episode would have turned out by Steven Spielberg.

Cracked is usually spot-on in these sorts of videos, but I've gotta disagree with their characterization of Batman Forever as being a product of it's time. That movie was just as much an out of place a piece of $#!+ as Batman & Robin, and only performed at the box office as well as it did because the audience was expecting another Batman movie that was comparable to the previous two.

You don't become the 2nd highest grossing movie of the year, #1 for the summer, with mass hatred. Haven't we learned that from Transformers?

I might check it out, but since I've already listened to Kevin's podcast in which he interviewed the guy behind this documentary (which is based on the book he wrote if I remember correctly), I'm pretty familiar with the story. For anyone not familiar with the truth about Bill Finger's involvement with Batman, I highly recommend seeing this.

Back in the early SHH days there was a big campaign to get Bill Finger acknowledged. Glad to finally see it happen. Sad it had to be with Batman vs Superman.

Even though there's a 0.01% chance I'm still crossing my fingers for a Dark Knight Returns with Michael Keaton. But if the DC universe keeps digging this hole for itself and Keaton keeps doing good stuff that might go up to a 0.07% chance.

I'd rather keep Burton out though. A. the dude's been off his game for a while now and B. the inherent sci-fi vibe of both seems out of his element.

I happened to re-watch Batman Forever this past weekend mainly because of the recent Nostalgia Critic review (I've lost count of how many times I've actually seen this movie despite it not being good), and can I just say that one of the few bright spots of the Schumacher films is Elliot Goldenthal's main theme? It's no Elfman theme, to be sure, but it's one that can come to mind really easily and I do legitimately like it.

I'll have to check out his review. I think most of us are in the same boat when it comes to Batman Forever because we're all within 5 years or so of each other age wise. I watched it a TON when I was a kid because it was so big and I was at the perfect age since it came out when I was 10. I remember watching it at a friend's place in maybe 2009 for the first time in maybe close to a decade and realized just how bad it really was. I haven't seen it since.
