I'd be more excited if Schwarzenegger was back as Freeze.

That's what I figured.
Obviously if they could bring any Batman back for a DCU series it would have been Adam West, so this wasn't happening.

They played the audio of this during the most recent Scriptnotes podcast and it was really fun to hear. People were so optimistic back then. None of the frame-by-frame nitpicking of trailers that assholes like me do today.

None of the frame-by-frame nitpicking of trailers that assholes like me do today. Unless you taped it on television, there was no frame-by-frame to dissect. This was the magical time when you’d primarily watch trailers at the movie theatres. Why else you think Doomsday was suckered into watching Batman Forever.

Wasn't there a wave of people who saw a movie just because it had the teaser for Phantom Menace and then promptly left the actual movie they paid for after?

Great cinematography, terrible everything else and a good indication of why some great screenwriters can't make the jump to directing.

That is a great scene. And all those orange filter sunset shots.
That's about it. Funny enough the beach where they shoot a lot of it is right by my house. You can see the Chevron refinery in the distance.

He was so desperate to be in movies again he made a movie where he stuck his hand up the ass of a puppet beaver.

I thought he was making Wild Bunch and The Passion 2. No idea where either of those sit at the moment.

I'd seen the trailer for Meet Joe Black, and it looked watchable, and it was. Not very memorable, though. The only thing I really remember about going to see it is the trailer for Phantom Menace. I definitely wouldn't have bothered to see it otherwise.

I probably wouldn't have sat through that movie. I’m 99% certain I saw the trailer with Enemy of the State.

I’m pretty sure I saw it with the Rugrats movie, I think? I remember not expecting it at all but everyone in the theater being rock hard.
