Neverending I have a job for you. In 1995, back before the internet and trailer leaks and all that good stuff, I remember seeing on tv that there was going to be a Batman Forever promo after the news on one of the bigger networks. It started with the Batman symbol rotate into place with a green silhouette followed by Carrey's 'Riddle me this, riddle me that' line. Then it plays some clips with the finale music from 1989 Batman. I think it was a minute or two so around the length of a regular trailer. What do you think? Can you work your magic? I've come up empty.

This is truly one of the dumbest threads I've come across in ages.
It's entertainment. Stop trying to defund Batman.

Christopher Nolan himself addresses this in Dark Knight when Batman uses cellphone sonar to track down the Joker and has Morgan Freeman immediately destroy it.

Yeah, the whole trilogy is really weighing the ethics of what Bruce's doing. It's no coincidence that Batman and Gordon's choices at the end of The Dark Knight directly contribute to the Draconian laws punishing the impoverished and allow Bane to gain a foothold in Gotham.

Who is this guy and why should I care what he has to say about movies where a guy in tights punches people in the face?

There was draconian laws on the impoverished in DKR? I mean I saw it once, but I didnt remember that. I thought Bane's Occupy push was made up out of whole cloth.

There are references near the beginning to how the Dent Act gave Gotham "teeth" when it came to dealing with crime. I say the impoverished because while the prisons are full of working class thugs the Roland Daggets of the world are still able to run wild.

I didn't take it that way when I watched it, but wasnt really up to where I am on modern policing then.
Took it as a crackdown on actual crime/Eric Roberts of the world. Which wouldn't really be draconian.
Ugh. Am I gonna have to rewatch that crappy movie now?

Pretty sure Bane took over Gotham because he tricked the entire Gotham City police into running into a football stadium.

Either way, Bane’s takedown wasn’t some giant social experiment like the Joker hijacking those boats. Pretty sure that whole “exposing the truth” nonsense was to create the illusion he was starting a political revolution.

He doesn't care about the people of Gotham, but he's able to exploit their legitimate grievances to propel himself to power.

No. Guy took over Gotham before he even started preaching about Harvey Dent. That was just to mislead the U.S. government about his intentions. Point is, whatever message Nolan had, was lost in the million plot holes in that movie.

you would think that with all the stuff Batman has in his utility belt , he would have a dollar bill stuffed in there somewhere . Nope, he had to borrow one from Alfred.
Bat-nipples made an appearance in the 60's! Joel Schumacher wasn't the first to have them . The surfing contest with the Joker must have been a chilly wet set for close-ups'
