Jibbs Deexan PhantomKnightDue to health issues, John Williams did not score Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies. The job went to Thomas Newman. It's the second time in Spielberg's career as a movie director where Williams didn't score one of his movies. The first was The Color Purple in 1985. Quincy Jones did the music. www.theverge.com/2015/3/18/8243915/john-williams-not-scoring-spielberg-filmWilliams is in good health now and will score Spielberg's next movie, The BFG. He's also scoring Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Although the spin-off movie, Rogue One, is being scored by Alexandre Desplat.

The potential is definitely there, let's hope the movie realizes it, which I'm sure it will.

Munich was Spielberg Oscar bait, yet that was still a genuinely great movie.

Lol. Holy shit a decade out from Munich.
The Spiel needs a hit, another rah rah American period piece is not what I wanted. I will end up seeing it because I mean come on, these two make magic together, but it will always be looked at as Oscar bait to me. Almost worse than The Judge because of the America angle (even if is the 'novel' angle of defending the enemy).

Goonies 2: Midlife Crisis I would be twice as excited about that as I am this one. Then again Goonies was a big part of my childhood so anything Goonies would get me pumped. A proper Goonies video game would be a nice start.

Lol. Holy shit a decade out from Munich. The Spiel needs a hit. Indiana Jones 4 was technically a hit. People hated the movie but it made a shitload of money. And Lincoln did pretty well too considering it was a slow-moving drama that will bore high school students until another Lincoln movie is made. Tintin and War Horse were the real flops. But I get what you mean. He hasn't done anything respectable in 10 years.

Yeah I mean, I wasn't as huge a fan of "Lincoln" as critics were, it was pretty much awesome whenever Daniel Day-Lewis is speaking and dull whenever he wasn't, but that got nominated for multiple Oscars and was well received by critics and viewers alike, so it's not like Spielberg hasn't had a critical success in awhile.

Did someone say Goonies 2? "The Goonies is a much tougher nut to crack, for obvious reasons. We are in the thick of it now, trying to figure it out".
Thus far, Columbus, Richard Donner and Steven Spielberg haven't come up with a story for The Goonies 2 that they're happy with. "We're still searching, but we are searching very hard to try and make it work. But we're not going to let anybody down. If we don't feel it's right, and that's between Donner, Spielberg and myself, if we don't feel it's right, we're not gonna do it".
But do they want to do it? "Yes, completely.... it's something that we all would like to happen".Read more: www.denofgeek.com/movies/gremlins/35175/chris-columbus-gives-update-on-gremlins-reboot-goonies-2#ixzz3fQcgvzPA
