I like the title just fine. I get the "weirdness" of it brought up by Fanible, but it personally doesn't bother me.

Also I refuse to believe whoever it is will be the last jedi. They're going to be making these movies for decades, we're sure to get 'Return of the Jedi, Again'. But titles aren't that important. If the movie is good, the movie is good.

Wow, I'm behind the times. I just heard about the title.
It does seem like it is more fitting for an Ep9 title, but there is likely a reason for it.

So basically like Yoda training Luke in Empire Strikes Back, we will have Luke training Rey and she sees something that could hurt her friends and flies off to rescue them only this Luke saves her butt, and gets killed in the process?? Hence forth "The Last Jedi"

If Rey ISN'T a Skywalker, she might be the first to expand the Force beyond the Jedi. Anakin wiped out the Jedi's and Luke failed to bring them back. Rey may just end up taking the Force into a new direction.

Perk of being @waltdisneyco CEO: seeing The Last Jedi early. Bob Iger calls it "a great next chapter in the iconic Skywalker family saga." This statement appears to prove that Rey IS a Skywalker. Unless, of course, they are hiding some unexpected twist.

Well... I mean, Luke has a big part in it, and Leia and Kylo can still be considered part of the Skywalkers (and we can't rule out an Anakin ghost). I'm on the bandwagon that I hope Rey is a Skywalker, but I'm not entirely certain.

Apparently the French title of the movie is "Les Derniers Jedi," the Spanish title is "Los Últimos Jedi," and the Italian title is "Gli Ultimi Jedi"
Why does this matter? Because "Derniers" "Últimos" and "Ultimi" are all plural forms of the word last... meaning definitively that there are multiple Jedi that are being considered the "last."
