Some of these I remember a lot better than others. John Williams is one of the great film composers, but like most prolific artists, he can be a tad repetitive. It's easy to remember his work if you put it into categories. There's the... STUCK IN TV MODE PHASE (PRE-JAWS)There's the... CLASSIC ERA (POST-JAWS)There's the... STUCK IN SPIELBERG MODE PHASE (POST-E.T.)There's the... I WRITE SERIOUS MUSIC PHASE (POST-SCHINDLER'S LIST)There's Jibbs favorite... I'M OLD AND SEMI-RETIRED AND DON'T CARE ANYMORE END OF HIS CAREER MUSICThen there's everything in-between where he might do a sequel (Star Wars), a throwback (Harry Potter), something new (Minority Report) or something surprisingly good (The Terminal). I know I used a lot of example from the 2000's but there's also 1941 (1979), The Witches of Eastwick (1987) and Rosewood (1997). I find the in-between stuff to be the most interesting, but there's no beating Classic Williams. 1975 through 1982 is John Williams at his best.

Oh, this is a tough one.
Halloween (1978) The Thing (1982) (did he do the score for this movie? It's awesome, love it) Escape from New York Big Trouble in Little China Assault on Precinct 13
All I remember about Halloween III was the annoying TV commercial that was gonna kill all the kids. "8 more days til Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, 8 more...." GAH!!!

Yeah he didn't really have much to do with H3 they just recycled the theme didn't they? Other than the Halloween music I wouldn't call him much of a composer, his work is usually very simplistic mood music for the scenes

My top 3 is the same as yours. But not Top 5? It's gonna be difficult to argue against The Untouchables and Cinema Paradiso. Unless you're flipping those.

I'd probably put "Cinema Paradiso" at 4, not sure where I'd go from there. He did the music for "Red Sonja"? That's kind of hilarious.

I'm calling bullshit on PG Cooper not having seen Lolita. The girls of his generation took ownership of that movie and turned it into a creepy fetish symbol. I'm sure he's written college essays about it and got into arguments about it with his girlfriends. Then again... he's Canadian. Has the Lolita culture not reached Canada? You guys and your progressive laws have made teenagers legal at 16. I guess that automatically eliminates "the danger" of a girl being a Lolita.

I've only seen the Kubrick version. I almost wrote about the remake for an essay last year, but ended up going a different direction.

I've only seen the Kubrick version. The Kubrick version is very tame. The remake is the one with balls. I mean, you already watched 2010. So you might as well watch the two Lolita's and compare them.

There's a remake of "Lolita"? That's actually the one Kubrick film I haven't seen, though that will change soon.

And I'm aware that I could look up these movies I always ask about, but I prefer to have Neverending explain the film and its backstory and random trivia instead, it's more fun than doing real research.

There's a remake of "Lolita"? Yes. And it's even creepier than Leon: The Professional.
