I would be sad if it goes south but he is 72 and lived a pretty awesome life and was doing something he loved. Could go out in a worse situation, old and crippled in a hospital bed with someone changing out your bed pan.
That being said, hope he pulls through all right.

I don't trust 70 year olds driving cars much less planes... Did you know Air Traffic Controllers have a mandatory retirement age of something like 56 or so, but Airline Pilots don't? How's that for scary? |

Sadly at 72 he is still in better shape than me and could probably kick my ass for making that joke..... but considering he would have to fly to come do it I don't think I have to worry about him completing the journey.
