I'm gonna give this a watch solely for Vince Gilligan. Apparently, it's based on a decade-old script. So this is X-Files Vince Gilligan and not Breaking Bad Vince Gilligan. Bryan Singer (X-Men) directed the pilot.

I've really liked Dean Winters since early SVU and Rescue Me. I'll give it a shot.

Recorded it last night, so I'll watch it tonight or tomorrow. I'll give it a few episodes.

Thoughts on this? It was alright, nothing really jumped out at me. It was your standard big cop in little city type of plot that we've seen numerous times, but the banter between the two could be fun. I'll give it some more chances, we can't judge a show on one episode. I honestly don't think I've watched CBS programming ever other than 60 Minutes and football. Did anyone else notice how washed out the look of the show is? Everything is a bit overexposed, very noticeable when looking at the sky. Not sure if there's a reason to this, but it was kind of distracting.
Anyhoo, I'll be watching it next week and see if it picks up.

I've seen the first two episodes, and so far, the show is very...meh. I mean, it's pretty typical of what you'd expect from a CBS cop show, and given the pedigree behind it, that's pretty disappointing. Also, it feels like a pretty half-hearted effort, but I'm willing to stick it out with the first season to see if it goes anywhere. Though, from what I hear, Vince Gilligan is more hands-on involved with Better Call Saul than he is with this show, so maybe that's it.

Yeah my thoughts exactly, it's been pretty whatever so far but I'll probably record the season and give it a shot. It hasn't been horrible, but it hasn't been any good either.

Anyone still hanging in there on this show? It's getting... better, but it's still just something to watch because most of my shows have ended or are ending while I wait for Game of Thrones and others to start back up. The show is mildly amusing, but man the writers can not clean up the endings or wrap the cases up in anything other than formula. I'll probably stick it out with the first season solely because it's (sort of) Vince Gilligan, but all bets are off after that.

Eh, I figured. I wonder how it's doing rating-wise, I mean even though it's nothing great, it's better than the majority of crap that CBS viewers tune into each week.

I'm still watching, sticking it out through the first season, too. Although, it's begun to feel like homework. I'm hearing the ratings aren't that great, so it might not even make it past the first season. CBS has much better shows, however. Person of Interest mops the floor with this.

That's a good way to put it: homework. I feel like I'm only watching it for Vince Gilligan like I'm waiting for his signature to finally come into an episode. Doesn't seem like that's going to happen, he wisely chose to focus his attention on Better Call Saul instead.
Ratings aren't good? Yeah, I'm not too surprised. I didn't even know Battle Creek, Michigan was a real place, and it's really obvious that they're filming in Los Angeles (come on CBS, the blue street signs are always a dead giveaway where you're filming) and I guess people were pretty turned off by that aspect as well.
